I’m excited to share the news of my forthcoming book, Dominican Political Rising in NYC: A Case Study of Urban Ethnic Political Incorporation. Those who know me understand that this is a project dear to my heart and born out of my community. This academic work, published by @Palgrave, will be available in both print and digital formats across multiple platforms. I am deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to making this project possible. I am also currently working on a Spanish edition, which I hope to publish by the fall. Last night, we joined @thenyic in celebrating the Community Interpreter Bank! 🎉 Their interpretation services help the NYCHVS capture New Yorkers’ experiences in the languages they speak at home. We’re also proud that some @NYCHousing interpreters are now part of the CIB!

“This housing crisis will not abate unless we build significantly more housing of every type and in every neighborhood. More housing for seniors, for those of the lowest incomes — for people with special needs, unhoused people, and those looking to become first-time homeowners.”
"Under the leadership of @NYCMayor , and in partnership with other agencies across the city, we’ve laid out our plan across three documents. The SPEED report, the Executive Budget and our 10-year housing plan, Block by Block. Together these outline a housing agenda that is unprecedented in its ambition and scale; and they tell the story of how we will fund and execute a housing transformation over the next decade" @NYCHousing Commissioner Dina Levy testifying today at @NYCCouncil Budget Hearing.

A speech delivered by Juan Santiago, who detailed his and his neighbors' experience living at 204 Ave A.“Today stands as proof of what allies can accomplish together. To everyone who has something to fight for: this is what is possible when you remain true to your purpose.”
In The Great Gatsby, Willets Point was “the Valley of Ashes.”
But today, we’re giving the 🟢 green light to housing at Willets Point, cutting the ribbon on Buildings 1+2, and breaking ground on Building 3.
We’re bringing more than 1,000 affordable homes to a new neighborhood.
Talking about Dominican empowerment at @thegraduatecenter - When I entered the GC political science program, I was clear about the need for more academic attention to the study of Dominican political mobilization. I was incredibly lucky to find the best in the field to guide that process. Yesterday I had a full circle moment participating in @jhmollenkopf conference on Research and its Transition to New Leadership. John Mollenkopf legacy and dedication in engaging and educating those seeiking to understand NYC politics is truly unparalleled and will have a lasting impact for generations to come. My participation was based on my forthcoming book Dominican Politican Rising, which stems from my dissertation carefully guided by Dr. Mollenkopf. Thank you!
