Pan-Africanists should not only raise their voices at the ICC but also speak out forcefully against xenophobia. South African authorities must first restore law and order at home by addressing crime and protecting innocent foreign nationals from harassment and violence.

Dawit Isaak is the world's longest-imprisoned journalist. On Sept. 23, he will mark 25 years of enforced disappearance in Eritrea.
A quarter century of silence is not diplomacy. It is failure. Sweden & the EU must act, urgently, decisively, & together.
Stand with Dawit. Help turn public outrage into political action.

Eritrea remains a brutal totalitarian state—the "North Korea of Africa"—where Isaias Afwerki has destroyed all human rights since 1993. Beyond forcing its own citizens into a lifetime of modern slavery through indefinite conscription, the regime routinely abducts and tortures foreign nationals, holding them incommunicado for decades without a trial.
Look at #Swedish citizen #DawitIsaak, the world's longest continuously detained journalist, who has languished in absolute isolation for over 9,000 days simply for publishing truth. Look at #US citizen #CihamAliAbdu, who was stolen by the regime at just 15 years old as a political revenge tactic against her father and has not been seen since 2012.
The absolute silence of global powers must #end. World leaders cannot ignore the state-sponsored human slaughterhouse that #Eritrea has become; they must take immediate, direct action to dismantle this regime and stand behind the youth fighting for democratic liberation.AI-svar kan innehålla fel. #BlueRevolution #EBRF #RegimeChangeInEritrea @POTUS@amnestyusa@SwedishPM@SweMFA@HostageAid@Europarl_EN@UN_HRC@SenTedCruz@SenatorDurbin@StateDept
🇪🇷 #BlueRevolution #NoMorePFDJTerror #NoMoreYPFDJ @BlueFront90547@DaeronaC@UNICEFIndia@UN_HRC@UN@UNHumanRights@UNGeneva@hrw@UNHumanRights@UNOCHA@IHRF_English@amnesty@amnestyusa@amnesty_de@AmnestyEARO@timnitGebru@BBCWorld@nytimes@ABC
#PFDJ financial & economic repression is beyond anybody’s imagination, our people are denying access to their own savings is another tool of control against already suffering population! #NoMorePFDJTerror#BlueRevoultion
What a time to be alive with the level of propaganda, media credulity and uncritical coverage of poorly designed experiments as “rogue machines” and such.
Can’t say we didn’t warn you when you see all that retirement money being invested in this hype.
A regime that systematically coerces and exploits its own citizens should not be mistaken for a legitimate government. Mandating people to deposit all their cash into banks, another mechanism of intimidation, surveillance, and authoritarian control rather than public service.

The deadline imposed by the #Eritrean government for citizens and organisations to deposit their cash holdings in banks expires at the end of tomorrow (31 July). The directive was issued in early June.
According to a BBC Tigrinya report, many people have been unable to deposit their money before the deadline. Customers have queued at banks, only to be given appointments for later dates. The report said Eritrea’s banks continue to rely on outdated, paper-based systems and remain largely undigitalised. As a result, priority has reportedly been given to businesses and individuals seeking to deposit more than 50,000 nakfa.
The directive has disrupted markets, reduced the amount of cash in circulation and contributed to rising prices. Uncertainty over what will happen to cash after the deadline has also fuelled public anxiety. Some people are reportedly converting their remaining money into assets such as gold, electronic goods and vehicles.
Eritrea’s banking system remains exceptionally underdeveloped. The country is widely believed to be among the very few in the world, if not the only one, without functioning ATM services.
A similar measure was introduced in 2015, when the Eritrean government ordered citizens to deposit their cash holdings in banks and issued redesigned nakfa banknotes. Since then, account holders have generally been restricted to withdrawing no more than 5,000 nakfa per month from their own accounts.

For many families in #Asmara, finding clean water, fuel for transportation, and LPG for cooking has become an ongoing challenge. These difficulties have placed a heavy burden on everyday life. In my view, the PFDJ government bears responsibility for policies that have contributed to these hardships. The Eritrean people deserve reliable services, economic opportunity, dignity, and a future where their needs come first. #Eritrea #HumanRights #EBRF #RegimeChangeInEritrea #BlueRevoluation #TransnationalRepration @BereketKahsai1@BeyeneGerezghe1@EGerasouli35992@UN_HRC@UNHumanRights@UN
