I turn 47 today, and I've been thinking about some of the things life has taught me so far. I definitely don't have everything figured out. But I know this…

No one is coming to save you. Once you accept that, you stop waiting and wishing, and start taking responsibility for your life.

The best investment you'll ever make isn't in stocks, real estate, or a business. It's in yourself. The more you learn, the more valuable you become, and nobody can take that away from you.

Discipline is probably the most important skill you can develop.

You become what you think about. The good news is you can choose your thoughts. That's a skill you can develop.

You become your habits. The little things you do every day eventually become your life.

Protect what you allow yourself to consume and the people you allow around you. Both are shaping the person you're becoming.

Failure isn't the opposite of success. It's part of the process.

Most people overestimate what they can accomplish in a month and underestimate what they can accomplish in five years.

Take care of your health. Without it, everything else becomes harder.

Time is your most valuable asset. Spend it on the people and things that actually matter. Protect your standards. Be careful who you spend your time with.

Learn to say no. You don't have to do everything.

Make time to rest. Make time to think. Some of the best decisions you'll ever make happen when you slow down.

Money can make life easier. You need it. But after a certain point, you have to balance out the time you spend earning money with the time you spend LIVING.

I’ve NEVER regretted spending money and time on travel.

Happiness isn't something you stumble across. It's something you build.

To be the man your family, friends, and community need, you have to keep investing in yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. That takes prioritizing yourself.

Happiness, not money, is the real measure of success.

Here's to another year of learning, building, and becoming better.

This bill still has to clear the Senate.

Call your senators & representatives and tell them to not support the NDAA until the merger w/ Israel (Section 219) is removed.
