As the GovSphere program concluded at Kissimmee Youth Academy, students celebrated an exciting milestone by completing their final hands-on project of the eight-week course. Throughout the program, participants learned valuable life and workforce development skills and had the opportunity to put those lessons into practice by building two picnic tables. The program provided an abundance of knowledge and technical skills that students can apply to future educational and career pathways.

We want to thank @GovRonDeSantis for the significant investments made in Florida’s juvenile justice system, which stands as a national model for other states. His continued leadership and support ensure evidence-based services for youth to help create a brighter future while prioritizing public safety for Florida’s communities.
Over the last seven and a half years, Florida has set the national standard for conservative governance, while breaking record after record in economic strength, education, and environmental stewardship. We’ve delivered billions in tax relief to families while making historic investments in the priorities that matter most to Floridians.
The FY 2026-2027 Budget I signed today reflects the core priorities I laid out from the beginning. This budget protects taxpayers’ interests, cuts spending for the fourth year in a row, and makes meaningful investments to build on Florida’s successes in education, public safety, environmental conservation, infrastructure, cancer research, and more.
I’m proud that Florida continues to serve as the prime example of fiscal responsibility and government that works for the people of our state.
As Responsible Fatherhood Month ends, we are excited to conclude our feature on DJJ fathers in leadership with the executive director of @floridayouthfdn Mr. Shannon M. Baker! Beyond his work with the Florida Youth Foundation, Director Baker is a proud father of three whose dedication to mentorship and youth advocacy has shaped his belief that positive relationships, strong values, and intentional leadership can transform lives, families, and strengthen communities.
Our black-and-tan cruiser is back for the 2026 Best Looking Cruiser Contest! This year, it’s the Mustang’s turn to outdrive the competition! Paired with the iconic Skyway Bridge in red, white & blue, we're ready for a 4th straight 🏆🇺🇸. Voting starts NOW: https://t.co/Avxx0F2wrl
Circuit 13 Probation staff recently partnered with the @tampapd to conduct a curfew sweep in the local community. Special thanks to TPD for joining DJJ in ensuring that our youth are complying with court-ordered curfews.
During Responsible Fatherhood Month, we continue to spotlight fathers in DJJ leadership. This week, we are highlighting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Detention Services Marcus Smith. Mr. Smith has served the Department for over 25 years and believes involved fathers help ensure the healthy development of children by providing emotional support, guidance, and stability.
The creativity, craftsmanship and technical skills displayed in the @America250FL Statewide Welding & Fabrication Challenge were truly impressive.
Congratulations to the winners of the Commissioner’s Choice, Technical Excellence, and People’s Choice awards.
I commend every participating school for showcasing the value of career and technical education and the opportunities it creates for Florida students.
While the internet can be an incredible tool for information and connection, it can open the door for exploitation by bad actors. Parents should be familiar with the apps their children and teens are using so they can discuss potential risks and safety strategies. #KnowYourApps #InternetSafetyMonth
