@CorfmanTim@jennfrey The product that’s in high demand is the whole youth sports package. Club/travel ball, leagues, tournaments, and of course the gear (anything our culture and these mega corporations can deem necessary for our kids to compete at a high level).
@BrandonTierney The vocal minority on this subject are complaining saying that youth sports shouldn’t be expensive like everything else.
My take is exactly like yours, it’s not, unless you want it to be.
@lexetscientia@coachvint You can find numbers like $1,200-$2,000 annually with a quick Google search. The crazy thing is that it’s actually more like $3-$4k a year if you expand the definition to include convenience store purchases.
@jimshapiro It’s a fair point (especially at $10k a year for 10 years!) but I don’t think it considers the whole picture. If you are “investing” money into your child’s sports I think you’re looking at it incorrectly. The return you get isn’t monetary…or at least it shouldn’t be.
@KenSpang Instead of bringing back the days of the sandlot (my personal wish), the solution is something different. I’m working on something locally. 🤞
