Governors initiated Common Core, motivated by poor results!
Too bad ppl fight instead of focusing on how to help kids with more & better choices

Be in control, & not become dependent on it!
One application was medical diagnosis in 1980s. DOUBLE CHECK!
Like Common Core methods that 'show work', learn mental math or count change.
Don't just compare with trad math!

I thought it would be great then to have videos. Recent debates indicate technology is still not exploited sufficiently.

The focus was on theory, not practice!
That is why education changed & standards upped the expectations.
Common Core opponents complain that including applications means leaving out basics.

Formal training is more organized but focused on memorizing as thinking & applying knowledge takes time.

@CollegeFix Employers made that same observation in 1974, claiming grads needed remedial training. Unfortunately, many want easy classwork instead of stimulating minds with meaningful challenging issues, like ancient Greek philosophy!
