As I child I remember being shocked and confused when learning people cheered the decision to crucify Jesus. I couldnāt understand who would celebrate such a thing. In present day I am reminded that evil exist. I donāt need to travel to far off lands to find it, it exists in the hearts of those near me.
Homeless, yachtless Elon Musk, who actually builds rockets, EVs, and neural tech trying to benefit humanity, should apparently cough up $50 billion in taxes on unrealized gains.
Meanwhile, Laurene Powell Jobs ($15B inherited), Nancy Walton ($20B inherited), and MacKenzie Scott ($40B divorce) never built shit, never risked shit, and never shipped a single product that changed the world.
But they get the praise and zero scrutiny. Because they have the right politics.
(BTW ~25% of Walmart employees are on government benefits.)
Happy birthday to my wonderful son. @elonmusk has given me 55 years of joy.
Itās so much fun to celebrate with family and friends.
His cake is a rocket and a moon base ššš
Today is @elonmusk's 55th birthday.
In those 55 years, he has only:
ā¢Ā Founded or co-founded 7 multi-billion- or trillion-dollar companies
ā¢Ā Made EVs mainstream
ā¢Ā Pioneered reusable rockets, reducing the cost of access to space
ā¢Ā Created 600,000 jobs (direct+supply-chain)
⢠Paid out more than $100B in salaries
ā¢Ā Restored astronaut launches to American soil
ā¢Ā Built a global satellite internet constellation used by millions and that connects schools in remote areas, hospitals in isolated regions, supports emergency responders after natural disasters, and more
⢠Created trillions of dollars in wealth for his company's shareholders & employees
ā¢Ā Enabled paralyzed/disabled people to control computers using thought, bringing more independence
ā¢Ā Created the most productive automotive factory in the U.S. (Tesla's Fremont factory)
ā¢Ā Created the Model Y, which become the #1 bestselling car in the world (first EV to do so)
⢠Created the first private company to dock with the International Space Station and send astronauts to orbit
⢠Became NASA's primary commercial launch provider
⢠Developed the first point-to-point self-driving system (FSD), improving road safety
ā¢Ā Built some of the world's largest and most advanced factories
⢠Built the world's largest fast-charging network for EVs
⢠Built one of the world's largest AI supercomputers
⢠Built operational underground transportation tunnels under Las Vegas
⢠Helped build what became PayPal and transformed online payments
⢠Done more than any single individual to accelerate the advent of sustainable energy
⢠Became the world's greatest entrepreneur
Maybe one day Elon will actually accomplish something š Happy Birthday!
Amazing V14.3.4 clip that @jtesla47 just sent me and asked me to share from his M3P.
What I love most about this clip is that FSD understands what needs to happen and reacts BEFORE the lead car even throws it in reverse. This is such a critical indicator that FSD isnāt just reacting to objects in its path, but actually understands what happens next before it even needs to start backing up to clear the dodge ram.
This is one of my favorite edge cases in a minute.
FSD IS THE TRUTH
Why not make it $75 or even $100 an hour? Heck $250 an hour!
@ChrisMurphyCT knows raising minimum wages just puts more money in circulation which raises inflation. So the minimum wage worker is no better off than before the raise. EVERYTHING just costs more and the dollar is further devalued.
It also acts as as a barrier to entry for anyone attempting to start a business. Big companies like it, it stops a lot of competitors from even starting.
Chris sees legislation like this is as an attempt to get votes. Typical dirtbag move.
@money_cruncher New cars are very rarely good investments. Buying a 2 year old car is almost always a better deal.
However there are other factors. I absolutely love my new Model Y. In the past Iāve kept cars for 12-14 years. I anticipate the same with this car.
You can map the collapse of the West by its denial of the True, then the Good, and finally the Beautiful.
All thatās left to replace them are power, performance, and pleasure.
@ewarren politicians used to go after millionaires. But now politicians are millionaires so they attack billionaires.
To the guy feeding a family on $65K a year thereās no difference between a millionaire and a billionaire.
At least the billionaires didnāt get rich in Congress.
Hey crazy lady. The government already taxes their income, taxes stuff they buy, taxes the property they own, tax inheritance, and regulate the heck out of their businesses. Yet, the wealthy still manage to make money and you commies canāt stand it so you want to tax their extreme success.
Imagine how much more fraud may occur if you can just get more tax revenue!!!!
Why donāt you resign and go open a business?
@ABC The weasels at ABC included the word āallegedlyā to protect themselves. They also didnāt claim it was FSD. But the average consumer doesnāt even notice those details.
Genuinely, socialism is the best sounding system.
It makes perfect sense for a society to work together to elevate the living standards of everyone together.
It makes sense that if someone builds something of enormous value, we accept that it was inevitable that it would have been created at some point and that it was society as a whole that went into the discovery.
It seems fair that we would all accept that people have vastly different abilities that yield very different commercial value. How unfair that the person who is naturally good at negotiating a roll-up acquisition strategy is wildly more rewarded than the nurse who returns someone to health or who allows someone to die with dignity.
Honestly, I see it. I understand it.
The issue is that we are primates running on ancient software. We donāt do stuff for the collective good, we do stuff for our kids.
The person who strives for an A on the exam doesnāt study if the grades are equalised. The entrepreneur doesnāt start the company when half the rewards are redistributed to those who didnāt - even though they couldnāt.
Weāre happy sharing to an extent but weāre not content to put it all in the pot. Weāre happy to help those who clearly cannot survive on their own but weāre not happy supporting those who donāt want to work or who struggle to get motivated or focused.
Socialism is the smartest system but it doesnāt actually work and has never worked. Really smart people like socialism because they can see how much better society could be ⦠if only it worked.
Even John Lennon kept the royalties to Imagine. His heirs will never need to work again from that one song alone. If he truly believed what he was saying, he would declare that it belongs to āall the people living for todayā.
Capitalists accept human nature. We know there is a better way but we know itās out of reach. We understand that if you can harness self interest in a pro-social way you will lift living standards enormously. The restaurant owner will feed the village not because itās good for society but because itās good for his kids⦠either way the village is fed. John Lennon will write uplifting songs ⦠but only if he owns the rights.
The most important part about capitalism isnāt that itās better - itās not. Itās that it actually works in the real world.
@MarcoFoster_@RoKhanna@RepRoKhanna If dismantling USAID did what you claim perhaps Congress is to blame for both the results and the fraud within USAID.
Congrees controls the purse so if bad things happen Congress failed, but clowns like Ro are never held accountable.
