Marcel's offer of a home has sadly fallen through.
Marcel is a 5 year old male indoor house cat. He is available and looking for a new home.
Marcel would be best with someone who can spend time with him as he likes human company.
He is chipped and neutered and healthy with no medical issues.
He has previously lived with a dog but does take time to warm up to other animals and can be quite anxious, therefore a home for himself would most likely be best for his needs.
Marcel eats Royal Canin indoor cat dry food and Felix wet food.
He uses a litter tray with no issues and likes to play with his toys which will be provided with him when he is rehomed.
Marcel is registered at the vets and likes Dreamies cat treats.
He would be fine with older cat savvy kids.

❗️Meta's smart glasses could be banned in Germany and the rest of the EU.

Hamburg data protection commissioner Thomas Fuchs, Meta's lead regulator in Germany, says his office tested the glasses, found the recording LED too easy to miss, and concluded that filming people in public with them breaks data protection law. It is already issuing fines.

His verdict: a camera disguised as an everyday object is illegal to sell or own in Germany. Only the Bundesnetzagentur can order that ban; it is reportedly reviewing.

France's CNIL warned about the whole category in May, and the European Data Protection Board's report on smart glasses is due this summer.

Animal rights campaigner, Anneka Svenska, was visited at home by two police officers and told to accept a police record, attend an “online thinking” course, or face arrest following comments she made on social media about the incineration of beagles at a company that breeds the dogs for use in medical research.

The police alleged that she had committed a crime under the Online Safety Act.

Anneka refused to accept this “community resolution disposal”, which would have remained on her police record, and, after she engaged a lawyer, the case has now been dropped.

Section 179 of the Online Safety Act was introduced by the last Conservative Government and made it a crime, punishable by up to 51 weeks in prison, to knowingly spread false information likely to cause harm. While the Bill was going through Parliament, the FSU warned it might be weaponised in this way to silence legitimate political speech.

Anneka doesn’t believe the information she spread about the company was false. In fact, she has documentary evidence which she says substantiates her claims. Until the Online Safety Act was passed, the company unhappy about comments like this would have had to bring a defamation claim in the civil courts.

Now, it seems, hurty words online can quickly become a police matter – and it seems that companies are now making criminal complaints as part of their brand protection strategies.

If you are visited by the police for a speech matter, we’d urge you to take specialist legal advice before accepting any form of caution or submitting to a re-education course. Members of the Free Speech Union can ask for our help if they find themselves in a similar situation.

The Sheep Detectives, released May 8 by Amazon MGM Studios, casts Hugh Jackman as George, a vegetarian shepherd who reads detective novels to his sheep every night and refuses to slaughter any of them. When George is murdered, his flock uses everything they have learned from the novels to solve the crime themselves.

The film has grossed $103 million globally, received mostly positive reviews, and according to Plant Based News has prompted some viewers to give up meat entirely after watching it. It arrived on Amazon Prime Video in late June and hits DVD in August.

The animal welfare framing is not incidental. The vegetarianism of Jackman's character is stated in the plot. His care for the flock is the film's emotional anchor. The murder mystery works because George's refusal to see his sheep as slaughter-line animals is what makes them worth avenging. According to Sony, all the sheep on screen were created digitally by Framestore rather than sourced from real farms.

The cast includes Emma Thompson, Bryan Cranston, Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, and Hong Chau, with sheep voiced by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, Brett Goldstein, Regina Hall, Chris O'Dowd, and Rhys Darby. Two police officers came to my home because I spoke up for laboratory beagles.
MBR Acres complained about one of my Instagram reels and I was accused of an offence under the Online Safety Act.

My reel was based on evidence I believed to be genuine, including a Stericycle hazardous waste consignment note, whistleblower information and corroborating Home Office correspondence. I refused to admit guilt because I had done nothing dishonest.

After my solicitor explained the evidence behind my reel, Cambridgeshire Police took no further action and closed the investigation.

But the wider issue remains.

If people can face a police investigation for speaking on a matter of public interest, backed by evidence they believed to be true, then freedom of expression in Britain is under real pressure.

We should all be asking ourselves: what kind of country do we want to be? One where citizens can question powerful organisations without fear, or one where people begin to think twice before speaking because they worry the police may come knocking at their door?

It made me think of Orwell’s 1984. Not because Britain is that society, but because the fear of speaking freely is how societies begin to silence themselves.

My conscience is clear. I don’t lie. I speak from the heart and I do everything I reasonably can to ensure what I publish is evidence-based.

I will never stop standing up for animals, and I will never be intimidated into silence.

Free speech isn’t tested when everyone agrees with you. It’s tested when people have the right to question powerful interests without fearing the consequences. We must protect that right.

Rocky is a 7 month old male Lab cross Border Collie
He is available and looking for someone who has experience of the breed and is prepared to train and give guidance to Rocky.
He is good with other dogs and kids, however as he is still a puppy, he can be very full on so any new owner will need to understand this and work with him.
Rocky is very loving and affectionate and loves attention.
He eats kibble and is very happy to meet new people.
Rocky has never really been left alone and may get upset if he is left for too long.
He likes to play with a ball and has travelled in the car but isn’t a fan.
No cats.
Rocky enjoys treats.
