@matviy Missing it after the trial is the best pricing page there is. Most trials are too short for that though. 7 days is barely enough to forget the old way
@matviy both camps are describing different markets. Selling to other founders, audience is everything. Selling to a roofer, nobody has heard of the influencer and the product has to survive a Monday morning
@AdiCoSto@marclou@cognition Over half with a first $1 is a better ratio than I'd have guessed for a room that size. Was it mostly audience, or people who picked one narrow niche?
@Sujay__Raj You mostly don't. Every tool looks like a weekend project to an indie hacker. Sell to people who'd never open a terminal and the loop stops at step one
@paarangatrai The people I sell to run small trade businesses. Not one of them has ever said 'I'll just build it myself'. They finish work at 7 and want the invoice to go out. Your last line is the whole pitch
@drd_davi For native apps for builders I'd bet on search over social. People hunting for a local-first tool type it into Google or Reddit the day the cloud one annoys them. Asking every buyer is the right move though, the answer usually surprises you
Is build in public getting your idea stolen?
I post every number: €0 MRR, 52 followers, 3 meetings booked, 0 customers.
Nobody has copied anything. Nobody needed to.
What's the bigger risk for you: being copied, or being ignored?
"SaaS is dead. Every company will build its own software."
My customers run small craft businesses. They don't want to build software. They want it to work after a 10-hour day.
Custom wins if you have a dev team. Everyone else keeps buying boring tools.
Where do you stand?
@zcabrams The exception might be businesses that never had software at all. A lot of small trades still run on paper and phone calls. No incumbent distribution to ride there, but also nobody in the way
