We have created a highlight video of our 2024 Grey Heron nesting livestream. 1200+ hours of footage edited down to 5 minutes. It covers the entire season from nest selection in February to the final departure of a successfully fledged chick in May. https://t.co/WRUjzssQ9x
We are delighted to regularly be receiving reports of Water Voles being sighted at the reserve. This is all thanks to some energetic conservation work by @HMWTBadger and others, supported locally by FoSL.

We have been informed by Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust that part of the path around Stocker’s Lake will be closed from Monday 26th September for altogether six days including Monday 3rd October. It will be open over the weekend of 1st & 2nd October.
Thanks to the help of @FoStockersLake and British Airways Club Angling Society for helping us make brash bundles with biodegradable twine and installing them around some of the fishing swims at Stocker's Lake. @AffinityWater#Conservation
We have a new and improved website!
You can view upcoming events, monthly bird sightings, as well as annual bird reports to 2010 and annual butterfly reports to 2014.

Bat trapping surveying on Friday 2nd August at Stocker's Lake found 67 bats: 2 Nathusius pipistrelle, 1 noctule, 16 Daubenton's, 43 Soprano pipistrelle & 5 Common pipistrelle. A record number for us!
Herons are now sitting and standing on nests abound! There is one from the Kingfisher Hide at 7 o’clock from the top of the osprey pole in very good view. Nests can also be seen from the Causeway. We have a camera fixed on the nest pictured.
After 225 hours of dedicated volunteer time we have a beautiful, completed cob #kingfisher bank at #StockersLake. Look out for bright flashes of blue coming in and out of the nesting chambers if you visit!
