Always love to see the different designs of glassware and crockery from the Northern Lighthouse Board. Some for presentation as retirement gifts others for use when the commissioners visited the lighthouses. These brown bowls are apparently one of the early patterns.
Interesting to see a wax seal (apparently the seal of skerryvore works) on these two envelopes being sent to Thomas Stevenson. 1844 to Baxters Place 1845 to George Street Edinburgh. I wonder who has written the information inside?
We're hosting a great event with @Scotmaritime next Thursday. Come along for a tea or coffee and have a chat about life at Denny's, with plenty of old photos to look through.
