Well it was fun while it lasted, this will be my last tweet.
Perhaps with #twitterbankruptcy from resignations & layoffs I won't be the only one. Finally check out https://t.co/LZvX4I6sE2, https://t.co/j4uksacwJb, https://t.co/zSynGTfrm3, BYD, Rivian, Kia, Hyundai, VW....
On the 100th Anniversary of the BBC I can say without a doubt that the most respected, most reliable, most informative and impartial news service in the world it has to be @Channel4News.
Shame to say it but my old favourite @BBCNews seems so bland and uninformative recently.
@HardcoreHistory OK the thought of listening to 2 old British guys reminiscing on empire had me bored stiff & I am British.
I put off listening until today.
How wrong was I?
I thought I knew WW1, I thought I understood good & bad of colonialism, etc. turns out I hadn't thought at all. Fabulous!
@BucksCouncil tried to dispose of an old fire alarm at HWY recycling. Kept it for ages so that I could dispose off it properly. Explained to 2 staff that its radioactive, response was, chuck it in #2, no it doesn't, and then well what am I going to do with it?
@chilternrailway Your portable machines do not allow you to issue smartcard tickets so have to resort to printing on paper tickets e.g. (dead trees).
And yet his phone probably has the NFC tech to do this, (albeit only for his personal tickets obvs).
Doesn't this seem a bit odd?
@chilternrailway HYW p3 machine and booth were not working again, chap covering with a portable couldn't do smartcards and today the app stopped accepting payments despite Ringo working fine, why, & why does a Rtn to London Z1 with tube cost £2.40 more than buying separately?
@chilternrailway Why can I (normally) buy a ticket on nfc on my phone on the ~50% operational app, when your staff can't?
(with wierd issues carrying >5 tickets on a smartcard which can be over come by a complex process of nfc checking smartcard status and trying to load tickets again via nfc++)
@SaoirsedT@JoeR42@TerribleMaps Yeah you say that but... look at our own countries borders. Check out the drumully polyp. I now need my passport (or similar photo id) to go shopping in Northern Ireland, which is part of 🇬🇧, all because of Brexit 😢 I❤🇪🇺.
@feyrotjeknor @JoeR42@TerribleMaps Until recently I was a European (🇬🇧💙 🇪🇺) I used to travel through The Netherlands and Belgium quite a bit.
Plot twist ... because of Brexit to visit Northern Ireland, (part of my own country) I now need my passport or other photo id 😢.
(Only ~37% of Americans have one.)
@JoeR42@TerribleMaps Belgium, has very square but crazy borders. Check out the towns of Baarle-Nassau/Baarle-Hertog. Better bring your passport shopping.
But the winner has to be the counter counter enclave in Dahala Khagrabari
Just too many levels to this hilarious radioactive 5G armour. Idiot pseudoscience or genius carefully planned to highlight idiocy but not actually be sold?

@ajgbarnes@SCuccotti@jonmaddison@NHSuk The setup itself was very well run, and v happy they are prioritising getting it in people's arms given the speed of this latest variant.
@SCuccotti@ajgbarnes@jonmaddison@NHSuk Likewise been a week and still not in the app. Disappointing, given it was booked in on the system, presumably they need more approved/trained volunteers/professionals to assist in keying in the sensitive data.
@timparamour @TimHarford I believe its entirely sustainable. One day of headaches and a £20 injection once or twice a year vs Grandma. Sooner or later we will all be in Grandma's age bracket and then on top of that there is Yahtzee, ever played this game? £20 seems v cost effective and sustainable.
