The progress China has made in renewable energy just THIS YEAR makes the entire rest of the world look like it's standing still.
I wrote in December that to call China the "world leader in renewable energy" was a colossal understatement.
That’s even more true today.

@Beyond_Topline The problem here is that "eventually" is quite a long time, I've been saying this is due for probably 15 years but people have short memories and once I've said it for 10 years or more people think I am wrong and not just premature 😯
I am launching later today a substack account to discuss at more length issues that really interest me around gut health and nutrition . If you fancy a longer read go to the link in my bio or Google the link for substack - please share😀
@johnlappin@AlanJLSmith My bar is pretty low
Minimal corruption. Some attempt to govern for the many not just their friends
Acceptance of the world as it is and tell the truth about that
Not breaking domestic or international law
Be the friend not the enemy of the vulnerable in society
Too much?
@antartica81@fascinatorfun It's not though - it's even worse.
10% inflation means net pay needs to rise by 10%. A 10% rise in gross pay for a basic rate tax payer (after tax and NI) is a 7% rise in net pay (approx).
@RankinPeter@theactualpolson One of the best places in the world - and the food is good. Can't believe @ovationchris expects his books to be available second hand...
Anybody who supports the death penalty is by definition supporting a system which results in the state killing innocent people.
Only somebody with no understanding of history or criminal justice could fail to understand this.
And such a person has no place in politics.
@richyphillips Remember the maths is actually worse as a 10% rise is gross - so take tax off and almost everyone is still behind the cost increases. @RichardJMurphy
@Paul_Stocks_IFA I was talking about democracy, striking for an election seems reasonable to me if all other routes have been closed (debate that of course). Where democracy has been undermined by that very Govt seems to add legitimacy. NB look at the Tory manifesto promises.
@Paul_Stocks_IFA Democracy has been undermined by this Govt and the laws introduced by it - ie ID requirements for voting. Just because a Govt did something after being voted in does not make it democratic.
I would suggest when you have a lot of unhappy people is exactly when you need a vote.
First cut of the year, borrowed rotary to loosen worm casts and all looking pretty good given the wet and cold.
