Its not really about the size they paid imo, that was the only liquidity in the book and was taken from 1c to like 20c and just a very abnormal trade for the market. Definitely someome with information, but there are ways this could have been obtained without being an insider!

There is still someone on the other side losing nearly 20k to this buyer from this too.

Good to see them look into it at least, I think kalshi is just trying to be proactive here before stories of the trades come out

My hot take is that mentions were a much better first experience and social intro to Kalshi than the current slate of what people get (crypto up/down)

People won't care to tell their friends to try Kalshi to trade on a team covering the spread because every app on their phone has it, but they will be intrigued if they made money on an announcer saying "What a catch" - because everybody at the watch party will think "wtf of course he was gonna say that!!!"

The unique one off categories feel huge for driving new, recreational traders. And mentions was just the short form version of that. Rather than waiting for an election result, someone could instead trade on the debate happening that same night.
