Good move, but why has it taken the federal government so long to block tech investments in enemy states and why weren't such investments completely barred long ago?

"The rule announced Thursday would expand the restrictions to cover investments in hypersonic systems capable of traveling at five times the speed of sound, supercomputing, biotechnology and artificial intelligence, though Treasury used Trump’s favored term for AI, “superintelligence” or SI."

Who elected California to make the rules for the rest of America?

Former Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill warns that California is using its massive market power to force its policies on businesses and consumers nationwide.

“That is not federalism,” writes Curtis, who now serves with @FreeEntProject and @Project21News.

He explains how other states can fight back and reclaim their right to govern themselves.

Bank of America debanks conservatives but fails to flag billions in suspicious transactions linked to Chinese money laundering networks?

“It is ironic that an institution called ‘Bank of America’ has apparently been more interested in debanking conservative Americans based on their political ideology than in debanking Chinese account holders through which Communist China may be actively trying to subvert and harm America,” says Free Enterprise Project Executive Director Steve Milloy.

Now facing a $1.2 BILLION penalty, the bank owes shareholders answers.

Starbucks’ $1 million DEI settlement sends a message corporate America shouldn’t ignore.

In a new commentary, former Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill explains why Florida’s action isn’t a political stunt. It’s about enforcing longstanding civil rights law and ensuring employment decisions are based on merit, not race or sex.

Trump admin fines @BankofAmerica $1.2 billion for allowing Communist China and other money laundering:

"Bank of America also admitted that it failed to implement and maintain a required program to combat money laundering and to file reports on more than $5 billion in suspicious activity, Treasury said. Over $1 billion of those transactions posed potential national security risks, they said, including those related to Chinese money laundering networks."

The @nationalcenter recently petitioned the @SECGov to have companies disclose their supply chain reliance on Communist China. Lazard chairman and former OMB director Peter Orszag describes why it's vital in this NYTimes interview:

"NYTimes: So I think it’s natural then to turn to the question of Taiwan and TSMC’s $265 billion Arizona buildout. Taiwan now produces over 90 percent of the world’s most advanced chips, and modeling of a blockade scenario puts U.S. G.D.P. down 3 percent in Year 1. Does the Arizona build de-risk anything?

"Orszag: Barely. I think it’s healthy for the U.S. to be building out domestic facilities and capability, but even in the best-case scenario, a very small share of overall chip production — and an even smaller share of the frontier chips — will be produced in the United States. When you’re facing a problem, it’s good to start creating workarounds. But this is not an easy or short-term fix, and it’s not a panacea. So there still will be a significant amount of exposure to the production that happens on Taiwan itself, and from that perspective, Taiwan is effectively the O-ring Island at this point."

BTW, the chips we make in Arizona? Some need to be send to Taiwan anyway for finishing. So we may not have not "de-risked" so much as we have "re-risked."

So far, the SEC has not done anything because... well I don't know why since it hasn't responded. Possibly, it is hoping China puts off the confrontation until some future administration. But the problem is real and present, and no one in the government or industry is doing anything fast enough about it. Decades of government neglect and malfeasance, and industry hubris is how we got into this situation in the first place. But🤞!

Just days after we challenged @Starbucks over potential forced labor in its Chinese solar supply chain, the coffee giant opened its first stores in Xinjiang.

Now our @FreeEntProject is demanding answers — and action.

“Last week we asked Starbucks whether its solar panels could be tainted by forced labor in Xinjiang. Before the week was over, Starbucks went a step further and opened coffee shops in Xinjiang itself,” says FEP Executive Director Steve Milloy.

FEP is calling on Starbucks to close the stores, explain its decision to shareholders and confront the human-rights risks surrounding its China operations.

“The SEC wants to declare the game over—with the left in control of corporate America,” writes Free Enterprise Project Executive Director Steve Milloy at RealClearMarkets.

"The Trump SEC’s proposal is correct that the SEC had no statutory or constitutional authority to empower leftist activist shareholders in the first place. However, treating the situation like a game of musical chairs and opting to end it now, especially when the leftists occupy all the chairs, is foolish."

🇺🇸🇨🇳 As Trump and Xi prepare to meet, warnings about China supply-chain risks are growing.

The pressure is on the SEC to require publicly traded companies to disclose how dependence on China could expose investors to serious supply-chain and national-security risks.

Now, the Coalition for a Prosperous America is backing the Free Enterprise Project’s call for the SEC to address what investors need to know if U.S.-China relations take a sudden turn.

American investors deserve to know where the risks are hiding.
