Due to a combination of factors, like income, housing type, access, and provider fees, the average power bills in rural, predominantly Black Sparta, GA are higher than Buckhead, the ninth wealthiest zip code in the country 😡

⚡ Energy equity is the fair distribution of energy & access to it, and Black folx in rural Georgia are paying the price of corruption & capitalism. In rural counties like Dougherty County, power bills are so high that some folx pay more for utilities than they do for rent 😱
