I have never heard of a government prepping like this for a “mass casualty incident” against its own citizens. No doubt it has happened before, but this is incredible.
Pakistan has told Islamabad hospitals to cancel elective surgeries and prepare bed space because a non-violent march is planned for 9/27.
Deeply concerning to see Aleema Khan, sister of jailed former PM Imran Khan, arrested and detained for 30 days under the Maintenance of Public Order law — days before PTI’s planned Sept 27 protest.
I interviewed her in December about her brother’s imprisonment.

This is intentional disinformation!
Imran Khan has endured greater hardship than any other prisoner currently held in Adiala Jail…. a reality quietly acknowledged even by the prison staff.
For several weeks now, both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have been denied access to television. Books deposited for him by our family remain undelivered, and his daily newspaper was abruptly discontinued weeks ago. His time outside the cell is severely restricted to only a few hours a day.
During a recent visit on Tuesday by Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi, Imran Khan expressed his anger over the inhumane and unlawful treatment he continues to face. Even the most basic rights guaranteed under the jail manual are being withheld.
Despite these conditions, his unwavering faith in Allah Almighty remains a source of strength and inspiration for all who know him. He is not in jail for himself, he is there for the people of Pakistan. In a desperate attempt to break his spirit, the authorities have resorted to illegal and degrading tactics.
He will endure this ordeal, but he will never compromise on his principled stance for the rule of law and democracy. Given that there have been at least three known assassination attempts on his life prior to his imprisonment, we have serious and growing concerns for his safety.
"Imran Khan is a great cricketer and a former Prime Minister. We may not understand all the laws or technicalities, but strictly on humanitarian grounds, we demand his basic rights and proper medical care. We are asking for nothing more than that." — Kapil Dev
