73 yo F with ischemic bowel. Sampling of lymph nodes is important! This lymph node (left) shows microscopic foci of subcapsular metastatic gastric adenocarcinoma (left). This incidental finding on sampling of lymph nodes led to a work-up that detected gastric cancer.

Results were similar to those obtained with synaptophysin although the intensity and the % of stained cells was frequently inferior with INSM.
I agree with the idea of doing a combo INSM/Synapto

Is this the same case I posted last week? Nope, this liver biopsy is acute hepatitis C -- the only confirmed case I've ever seen outside the post-transplant setting. Plasma cells are sometimes numerous, but that's obviously nonspecific. #pathology #gipath

Giemsa is not only for Helicobacter!Differentiating incomplete intestinal metaplasia from pseudogoblet cells in hyperplastic mucosa can be tricky,and PAS isn't very helpful. See how Giemsa stains goblet cells with both a different color and a different texture.
