PingCAP's breach reportedly started with service-account credentials committed to code. If your team or a contractor builds anything for you, ask this week: are there passwords or API keys sitting in our code? https://t.co/nBIo81OWfK #CyberSecurity#DevSecOps
@reercetin That's the trap. WordPress being current says nothing about the PHP under it. On shared hosting, ask support for the exact version and whether they run mod_php or PHP-FPM, since mod_php is the riskiest setup. Did any of the three hosts confirm a patched build yet?
@AndreasHerss@runcloud Good push. Worth noting those 7.4/8.0/8.1 backports are source-only, so it comes down to whether RunCloud ships builds. If they don't, I'd move those apps up to 8.2.35+ and put a WAF rule in front in the meantime. Has RunCloud given any timeline yet?
@Reigen_Raju If the page is served by PHP, yes, it's in scope. Easy check: ask the host or look in the hosting panel for the PHP version. Patched is 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 or 8.2.35. If it's a static page or a site builder, you're likely fine. Want a hand checking? DM us.
@getpseudoed@mkenenra@KeyserSozeBluth Not a WordPress thing, so updating WP or plugins won't fix it. It's PHP on the server, so it's on your host. Ask them which PHP version your site runs. You want 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 or 8.2.35 or newer. Most big hosts are patching now, but it's worth getting a yes in writing.
@bringonthezings@dhstatus Fair question to ask them. While you wait, check your PHP version in the panel. 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 or 8.2.35 means you're patched. Older and no answer yet? A WAF like Cloudflare in front buys time. Happy to help if you get stuck, just DM us.
PHP2Shell: two critical PHP flaws let attackers run code on your web server with no login. If your site runs PHP (WordPress included), patch to 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 or 8.2.35 now.

ConnectWise just suspended its Cloud Backup after attackers hijacked its app identities and hit M365 tenants.
Your backup vendor is a single point of failure too.

Microsoft's October Patch Tuesday: ~1,400 fixes.
One Outlook bug (CVSS 9.8) fires from the preview pane alone.
Patch. Reboot. Log it. If it's not documented, it didn't happen.

Need security leadership but not a full-time hire? Part-time security or IT leadership (vCISO / vCIO) can set the strategy without the full-time salary. https://t.co/nBIo81OWfK #vCISO#CyberSecurity#SmallBusiness
Old client files in the back room? Paper is a liability the longer it sits. In Lakeland and Polk County, our SecureBox service handles the shredding and gives you custody records and a Certificate of Destruction. https://t.co/nBIo81OWfK #DataPrivacy#Lakeland
REDCap runs surveys for a lot of clinics and research teams, and CVE-2026-90817 is being exploited in the wild. Patching closes the hole, but if your server was exposed, check it for anything new that shouldn't be there. https://t.co/nBIo81OWfK #CyberSecurity#REDCap
Denmark's register mess is a vendor lesson: the weakest login in your stack may belong to a company you barely manage. Passwords like "123456" shouldn't exist anywhere near your data. When did you last review third-party access? https://t.co/nBIo81OWfK #CyberSecurity#VendorRisk
If your team runs REDCap, update now. CVE-2026-90817 lets an attacker run code on the server with just a public survey link, and Unit 42 has seen it used to drop crypto miners. Fixed: 16.0.49, 17.3.10, 17.4.4. https://t.co/nBIo81OWfK #CyberSecurity#REDCap
Still entering the same data into two systems? Workflow automation takes over the repetitive work while a person approves the decisions that matter. Less busywork, fewer errors. https://t.co/nBIo81OWfK #Automation#AI#Productivity
If your org runs Ivanti Connect Secure VPN, patch now. A zero-day is actively exploited and CISA put it on the KEV list with a short fix window. Internet-facing appliances don't get a pass. https://t.co/nBIo81OWfK #CyberSecurity#VulnerabilityManagement
@CMMCtrack An opt-in CMMC capability directory without exposing CUI is a real gap. Primes waste weeks asking the same questions. What's the biggest blocker you've heard from subs on self-attesting?
@mikepower1871@dsturmn@vinted Free Gmail "support" addresses are such a clean tell. No serious company runs help desk that way. Curious how often you still see people almost send the details before catching it?
