[Once Upon A Time On The Internet @newgroundsdoc]

23 YEARS AGO TODAY, @TheWeebl posted BADGERS to @Newgrounds.

[Stan @FullStackInfo]

@Oil_vampire @SarahisCensored I was legitimately angry for a bit, but luckily I saw @Oil_vampire post the rules and the details as to why they don't allow any type of protest on the grounds.
It would be the equivalent blocking a Sentinel in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It's simply not the place

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived." - Patton
•
Let's take a moment today to thank the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. Mourn but also celebrate this amazing individuals. That is what they would want.

Cheers and all the love

Coinbase lets go of 14% of their staff via email that reads like the output of a prompt asking to "generate an all-hands email announcing a reduction in headcount due to market volatility and AI tooling allowing non-technical people to ship code. Sound empathetic but confident".

[It's All Coming Together @All2getherNow]

@brian_armstrong How many of your foreign "temporary" H1B employees were let go? Or did you just fire Americans?

[BuBBliK @k1rallik]

do you understand what happened to JetBlue..

they accidentally told the entire internet their biggest secret

A man's ticket jumped $230 overnight while trying to fly to a funeral.
JetBlue replied: "Try clearing your cache and cookies or booking with an incognito window. We're sorry for your loss"

"Try incognito mode" is not customer service.. It's a confession.
If incognito = cheaper price, you are being tracked.. Airlines denied this for years - until this tweet.

"We're sorry for your loss" - sent to a man going to a funeral..
Nobody read his tweet before responding. Then they deleted it..

The delete only confirmed they knew exactly what they admitted.
Your browser history is not just data. It's leverage.

I didn't think it was to this level, but apparently I was either in denial or just haven't worked around enough vibe coders.

"Bitcoin replaced the bank; Xerberus replaces the rating agency."

$XER is launching on EVM in September.

A $SNEK whale just lost over $175,000 USD to a scammer.

The funds were drained, anonymized, and routed through multiple wallets. They came to us for help, we activated SIREN

here's everything it unpacked 🧵

@TheAKGuy @gunrights Am I missing something here? Form 4473 includes a BG check and "tackling the felons, domestic abusers, and those with a history of serious/dangerous mental illness" has been done for every single LEGAL firearm purchase, for decades right And in CA it's req'd for ammo purchases.

@Baffo_il @davidfowl 2/2) This causes issues, especially when business requirements are to read and parse tab-delimited lines with. CRLF instead of just LF chars. As well as saving, parsing, and working with mTLS, key files and formats, and how they behave on a *nix host

[Stan @FullStackInfo]

@Baffo_il @davidfowl 1/2) This is an often missed factor that a lot of management doesn't think about. Devs write code using Windows or MacOS in Visual Studio (or vscode), build, run and test locally, and push changes. A lot of the mindset isn't rewarded as much as pushing out features.

AI is getting out of control. The new types of scams that are going to start happening are going to be really bad.

[The Fat Electrician @Fat_Electrician]

Multiple members of Congress, or their spouses, have achieved better returns on stock investments than Warren Buffett, the most renowned stock investor of all time.

Anyone in a federally elected or appointed position of authority should not be allowed to invest in individual stocks. Investing in index or mutual funds is fine. Is this fair to them? No—but they volunteered to be public servants, and with that comes accountability and sacrifice.

The amount of politicians blatantly engaging in what would be considered insider trading for anyone else is outrageous. The goal of a politician should be to serve the people—not to amass $100 million while in office, then retire with a lucrative book deal.
