Anthrocon or AnthroBust?

This year’s anthrocon was either a major hit, or a major disappointment for many.

This includes:

1.) Unbearable heat and weather related events
2.) Terrible communication from con leadership
3.) People unable to get passes into the con
4.) Shuttle issues
5.) Block party cancellation
6.) Rude staff members
7.) Increased violence and crime

@GildedPardus @torchindustry Registration was faster because so many have to bootleg badges because they “sold out”.

They’re faking the attendance numbers this year.

Anthrocon badges have been BOOTLEGGED!

There was a handful of people at the FedEx store right outside the DLCC printing off badges. I spoke to the one behind it:

*100lb Business Card Cardstock (double sided glossy)
* Job Ticket Holders on Amazon (4”x6”)
*Anthrocon or Black Lanyard

They were using the badge numbers of 69420 on them and changing the name. The person was using Adobe Illustrator and was able to scan in a badge as a PDF and edit it in.

I have a very strong feeling that @anthrocon will be “flubbing” the attendance numbers.

This is the first year they have used randomly-generated numbers on badges. Every year before, they were sequential. Now - they are all over the place. I saw a 39,000+ badge last night.

I feel strongly this “weekend sell out” is a scam. It’s a way to push past FWA and keep the title.

Also - why wasn’t the CHAIRMAN at opening ceremonies!?
