It is likely a higher number of employees let go.

Most of the jobs in last few weeks have been all corporate/IT.

The reason given for firing was to reduce roles/headcount, but it just went to HCL Technologies Limited, an indian company.

I wager 40%+ is now contractors , probably hire via india. To make some of these firings worse, the people let go, in order to qualify for their severance, are being forced to train the HCL staff that is replacing them.
