Wie du siehst, schaue ich hier nicht gerade glücklich. Gestern Abend war ich mit der Familie am Strand spazieren. Den gesamten Hin- und Rückweg habe ich auf FSD Supervised zurückgelegt – und ich musste kein einziges Mal eingreifen. Über 240 Kilometer.Nach fast 10.000 km mit FSD Supervised weiß ich genau, was es kann und was es leistet. Es macht einfach jede Fahrt vollkommen sicher – nicht nur für meine Familie, sondern vor allem auch für alle anderen Verkehrsteilnehmer.Warum bin ich dann nicht froh? In etwas mehr als einer Woche fahre ich mit meiner Familie (und zusammen mit Zehntausenden anderen Tesla-Fahrern, die die Sicherheit von FSD ebenfalls kennen) in den Urlaub. Dabei durchqueren wir Deutschland von Venlo bis Passau.Und obwohl kein einziges sachliches Argument dagegen vorgebracht wird, ist FSD in Deutschland immer noch nicht zugelassen. Stattdessen wird bewusst ein unnötiges Sicherheitsrisiko aufrechterhalten. Nur damit ihr es wisst. Mir fehlen eigentlich die Worte.

Another day, another week, zero news from @mitgov_it @matteosalvinimi @GiorgiaMeloni about the FSD approval in Italy.
There is no transparency, there is no any kind of "under study" nothing.
We deserve to know why the goverment is not avoiging accidents, why they don't want the roads safer. FSD is here to change the way of transportation, to reduce the mortality and accidents in the roads, like the thousands of them that will take place this same. @teslaeurope @Tesla

Das ist der Satz, der die ganze Debatte beendet: „independently verified testing“ – nicht Teslas Zahlen. 24 Millionen Meilen auf niederländischen Straßen, ohne nennenswerten Zwischenfall.

Das bedeutet: Die RDW hat sich keineswegs auf Tesla-Marketing verlassen, sondern auf eigene, unabhängige Tests über 18 Monate. Damit ist die Erzählung „Tesla hat geschönte Daten eingereicht“ als Argument gegen die Zulassung endgültig erledigt.

Und der eigentliche Denkfehler liegt noch tiefer. Die Frage lautet nicht: „Ist FSD perfekt?“ Natürlich gibt es noch unzählige Edge Cases.

Die richtige Frage ist: Ist ein überwachtes System – das in 99,99 % der Fälle fehlerfrei selbst fährt und vom Fahrer kontrolliert wird – sicherer als ein einzelner Mensch, der allein fährt, müde wird, aufs Handy schaut oder zu spät reagiert?

Die Antwort ist eindeutig: Ja. Zwei Sicherheitsebenen gegen eine.

Und genau deshalb wird es von Tag zu Tag offensichtlicher, warum trotz dieser Fakten so massiv dagegen lobbyiert wird: An der „Sicherheit“ kann es nicht liegen. Und genau das gibt der ganzen Angelegenheit einen immer faderen, ja geradezu üblen Beigeschmack.

Denn hier steht keine Kleinigkeit auf dem Spiel – hier wird ein ganzes Geschäftsmodell auf den Kopf gestellt. Eine etablierte Industrie, deren Kerngeschäft eine Technologie ist, die sie selbst nicht besitzt.

Deshalb der erbitterte Widerstand:

→ Der unbequeme Teil zuerst: Tesla hat FSD. VW, BMW, Mercedes & Co. nicht – und so schnell auch nicht. Eine EU-weite Freigabe wäre für sie eine existenzielle Bedrohung.

→ Institutionelle Selbsterhaltung: Wenn alles genehmigt wird, wozu braucht man dann noch die Warner?

Die RDW entscheidet mit Fakten. Die anderen mit fremden Studien und Spekulation. Das ist der Unterschied zwischen evidenzbasierter Regulierung und Verzögerung im Sicherheitskostüm.

The Dutch vehicle ​authority (RDW) ‌has released a statement after it received criticism for approving @Tesla's FSD (Supervised).

"The RDW carefully assessed and tested this driver assistance system before approval was granted. As part of this process, we analyzed and evaluated data from vehicles that had been driven in Europe. We also collected and assessed our own data and continue to monitor the performance of this system on the road.

The RDW did not rely solely on Tesla’s data; we also carried out extensive testing ourselves using our own test equipment. Over a period of more than 3,000 hours, testing took place both on test tracks and on public roads, under a wide range of conditions, including complex and busy urban traffic, a broad variety of road types, and different - including extreme - weather conditions. This included the use of data from 1.8 million kilometres driven in Europe with FSD Supervised.

The RDW’s own tests — comprising more than 1,000 test runs — were conducted in accordance with European regulations. The Tesla data used by the RDW also complied with those rules. The RDW independently assessed and validated the process used to collect the data.

Through these tests, the RDW gathered objective information and verified the manufacturer’s data. The RDW does not base its assessment solely on information provided by the manufacturer. We carried out extensive independent investigation. On the basis of this overall process, the RDW concluded that the system meets the applicable requirements. As a result, a European type approval valid for use in the Netherlands was granted.

Safety is the RDW’s foremost priority. This Tesla driver assistance system supports the driver to a greater extent than other systems because, when activated, it takes over multiple driving tasks. The proper use of driver assistance systems makes a positive contribution to road safety by supporting the driver in performing driving tasks; it is intended as an aid to the driver. Owing to the continuous and strict monitoring of the driver in the vehicle, this driver assistance system is at least as safe as other driver assistance systems. We have thoroughly assessed and tested this system over a period of more than 18 months."

Und Frankreich, Spanien und Italien, alles Länder mit eigenen Automobilherstellern!
Zugelassen in Dänemark, Belgien, Niederlanden, Litauen und Estland, alles Länder ohne eigene Automobilhersteller.
Es ist keine weitere Prüfung erforderlich, die niederländische Freigabe kann einfach direkt übernommen werden. Die Niederlande hat in den 2 Monaten seit der Zulassung um den Faktor 3,5 weniger Unfälle bei FSD supervised Nutzung, obwohl deren Niveau schon sehr niedrig ist, dass niederländische RDW sagte das voraus!
