@ElliotSowersby Goes on all of ours too after Google decided to monetize recaptcha!

@DuaneStorey Wait, didn’t Automattic say they gave like 10x the amount of hours, now it’s only just over 2x? Strange math!

We've already informed them of the ongoing court case and public outcry. But they need more businesses to speak up for further investigation.

@perishable I’ve just gone through our dev estate today and switched everything to @Cloudflare Turnstile from Recaptcha. The direction that googles going charging for absolutely every little service, safer to get out now, before they reduce limits again, with a shady 2 months notice…

[Sean Hood @GCUK_SeanHood]

@rmelogli I do, but I always click links with middle mouse button for opening in new tab anyway, so never noticed!

[Sean Hood @GCUK_SeanHood]

@tnculp @photomatt @miriamschwab @GoDaddy They’d re-donate it to the internet archive 😂

[Sean Hood @GCUK_SeanHood]

@bgardner @wpengine Glad to hear it @bgardner - you do a lot for the community.

[Sean Hood @GCUK_SeanHood]

@tonyzeoli @WordPress @patchstackapp @automattic Yes, reducing down to what the others do. This has its clear downsides, however that isn’t the point of my message. They’ve just rejected @patchstackapp from sponsoring, and previously said @wpengine can’t sponsor. So with the reductions, surely @automattic can’t sponsor now too?

[WP Engine @wpengine]

We appreciate @jdevalk and @karimmarucchi thoughtful call for constructive conversation, change and evolved leadership within the WordPress community. Moments of disruption challenge all of us to reflect and to act.

WordPress’s success as the most widely used CMS is not the achievement of any one person, or a single piece of open-source code. It is the result of a global community - thousands of developers, agencies, businesses, and others – who have invested their time, talent, trust and resources in advocating for, supporting and building the global WordPress ecosystem and technology.

It is the community that has given WordPress its strength and where its future lies. For the entirety of our existence, our mission has been clear: to deliver a reliable, secure and scalable platform, supporting wider adoption and growth of WordPress. That’s a mission we take seriously.

We are committed to working with Joost, Karim, and other respected voices in the community to ensure WordPress’s future is stronger than ever. This requires collaboration, transparency, and action—and we stand ready to offer ideas, technology and support as we move forward together.

[Sean Hood @GCUK_SeanHood]

@CaseySoftware @photomatt You’re the real hero in this story 😂

[Sean Hood @GCUK_SeanHood]

@WordPress It has come to our attention, that Matt gives no concern about the livelihoods he recently affected by his poor decisions and actions. We need to hear the will of the people. Should Matt step back from any decision making roles regarding WordPress/A8C.
