@AegisSailor@LeahRebeccaUK@BBCNews I love those saying “It is our language so we know how to say it!”. It makes me laugh … I wonder how many live in a bungalow? No doubt they have slogans that are spouted from their gobs. There might even be a smidgen of a hubbub. Even the Bard borrowed, invented or adapted!
@abid_patel@UberEats@CTSI_UK@ubereats_uk@Uber_Support@Uber I pretty much got blocked out on similar … all because the local McD was useless. The only rating I could give was to the delivery driver who had done nothing wrong. Complaints to McD told me to speak to Uber and vice versa.
@TheABB@IWFhotline@ICOnews@educationgovuk@defenddigitalme It is never just one thing in a silo. It *has* to be part of a wider discussion, including classroom management, learner outcomes, personalised learning and responsibilities … and much more.
@TheABB@IWFhotline@ICOnews@educationgovuk@defenddigitalme Oh, I agree. But that is part of the issue. Monitoring and other safeguarding tools are only a tiny part of the equation. Focussing on those misses out on why we struggle to provide walled gardens to help children learn, build understanding and appropriate digital skills.
@TheABB@IWFhotline@ICOnews@educationgovuk@defenddigitalme I will take it back in-house though and come back to you with clear responses to each question about who can answer and what those could look like.
They are very interesting questions and there could be good ideas for research on this.
@TheABB@IWFhotline@ICOnews@educationgovuk@defenddigitalme I’ll reword for clarity. Some misunderstand and think schools cannot share risk with vendors (I.e. presume the vendor will do everything and they don’t have to worry) when that should not and cannot be a default position. Schools have have and understand the tools to handle this.
Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come.
‘Respair’, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.
Here’s to a few drops of respair in 2025.
@MichaelRosenYes@LRBbookshop Why on earth would I want to grill a bear? And what about? Shine a bright light in their eyes and intensely question about their toilet activities in forestry areas? Do they use paper, hunt for dock leaves or use the soft fur of a rabbit?
A wonderful day today at #PrivacySpace. Still the best Privacy/Data Protection event to go to. Perfect selection of speakers and so good to catch up with many notable experts in the field.
