#Astrophysics#PhD
Our alumni Ranadeep @GDRanadeep, now at Purdue @LifeAtPurdue, visited us today to present his research on Gamma Ray Bursts. He also interacted with @iiserkol students about his time at IISER and career prospects in astronomy and space sciences.
Smiling and welcoming ground staff & security @Schiphol on a busy Monday morning is one of the best airport experiences I had!! A significant part of a happy journey...
Ever wondered what the music of the spheres would sound like? 🎵
This #WorldMusicDay, explore Hubble's sonifications!
Scientists assign pitch & volume to an image’s data, which translates data into sounds, like in this sonification of Caldwell 73: https://t.co/xdNsItSRIK
Normalize describing all methods in a paper, even if they were done "as described in [16]."
Because [16] did it "as described by [9]", and [9] cites an abstract from the 70s that is unavailable. 🤦♂️
@AcademicChatter
Quite distressing that some of the faculty members in universities are charging money from masters students to include their names in papers (without any active contributions). Students are paying because if helps them in getting fellowships. How low are we to go down to.
Sorry for the shade, @NASASun, @NASAMoon & @NASAEarth! But you're just not cool enough 😎
Now fully deployed, our sunshield blocks your heat & light so that our mirrors will be able to detect faint heat signals in the universe: https://t.co/mggJkh6swO #UnfoldTheUniverse
