people are dramatically underappreciating how much this discovery rewrites history
> for decades, archaeologists believed the amazon could only support small, scattered communities because its soil was too poor for large, complex civilizations
> then deforestation started exposing giant circles + squares carved into the ground, and the theory began falling apart
> the intact jungle still hid the true scale, so researchers flew lidar over 4,500 km² and digitally peeled away the trees
> they found 396 previously unknown earthworks, some surrounded by ditches 5m deep + connected by roads
> across the full region, they estimate 20,000+ structures spread over an area roughly the size of syria
> most belonged to a 2,500-year-old society researchers call the aquiry
> its peak population is estimated at 1.25-3 million people (the city of rome had roughly 1 million)
> so while rome ruled the mediterranean, this supposedly impossible forest society may have supported 1-3 romes worth of people
> which raises the obvious question: how did a region archaeologists thought was infertile feed millions?
> it turns out this part of the amazon has unusually fertile soil, and they grew maize + squash while actively managing the surrounding forest
> then around 850-950 ad, their ceremonial centers were suddenly abandoned, and researchers still have no idea why
> and all of this came from a territory covering less than 3% of the amazon
what else is still hiding beneath the other 97% of the Amazon??
Multiple traditional banks have started to specifically permit using GrapheneOS in addition to a Google certified OS. Revolut does the opposite. Most apps using Play Integrity or similar checks also don't try to falsely claim GrapheneOS lacks security or compatibility as they do.
Revolut is incredibly negligent when it comes to security. It includes a bunch of closed source third party libraries with privacy, security and compatibility issues. Several of these libraries supposedly exist to protect security but in fact create serious security weaknesses.
Revolut recently banned using GrapheneOS without any justification. They're falsely claiming to do be doing it for security reasons. In reality, they're enforcing licensing Google Play. Revolut doesn't enforce security standards. It runs on Android 9 with no patches since 2018.
Introducing GONDI “Off-Market Listings”:
List your NFT for sale without anyone knowing. Your price lives off-chain, invisible to everyone but you. When an offer meets or exceeds it, the sale triggers automatically.
Why it matters:
Public listings signal exit. They invite lowballs and can crater perceived value, especially on high value grails with low liquidity.
With a Off-Market Listing, you quietly name your price and wait. Nobody knows you're selling until you've sold.
How it works:
Set your price: stored off-chain, zero on-chain footprint. Any offer (public or stealth) that meets it auto-executes.
Offer above your listing? You receive the full bid amount, not just your ask.
Item in a loan? No problem.
Sell & Repay works with Off-Market Listings: the sale repays your debt, releases the collateral, and delivers the proceeds.
Off-Market listings. LIVE now on GONDI.
Bitcoin lore meets on-chain art. Since 2015, Puzzle #71 has remained unsolved. 7.1 BTC locked behind a 71-bit private key nobody has (yet) found.
Inspired by it, @I____felix____I created this artwork where a coin rolls through that keyspace as a landscape, all on Bitcoin.
He likely began the work before the ColdCard key-generation issues came to light, but its release couldn't be more timely with current events. Thousands of Coldcard users ended up with keys far weaker than the one depicted in Felix's artwork.
Pay attention to Art on Bitcoin.
LET THE COIN ROLLING
a game to search btc puzzles by rolling a coin in an open landscape generated by private keys.
current unsolved puzzle is #71 with 7 BTC to find !
GOOD LUCK !!!
Yup, I have a #teztree ^^
It's actually very cool, like a linktr°ee but better.
Slick experience, y'all should try !
Kudos @flexasaurusrex for another dope build !
There's a built-in tipping feature ! I've tipped 1 tz to @arthurb, in the true spirit of 'buy me a coffee' ☕️😬
The fact that BMW thinks it’s acceptable to push a Spider-Man ad onto the dashboard of their car is enough for me to never consider buying one in the future.
There are some places that ads don’t belong and your car dashboard is one of them.
