Here’s what you need to know about: Shoulder Arthroplasty: Current Evidence and Techniques on Infection Diagnosis and Treatment. https://t.co/b6uN56xL6m @gkberger
Meet the 2025 #SDSIcourse Faculty! These trailblazers in #sportsmedicine and orthopedics are ready to guide you through shoulder cutting-edge techniques and hands-on learning next year. #orthotwitter
Enjoying a cup of #OrthoJOE before I hop on my flight to #OTA (and catch up on some episodes I’m behind on)! Take a listen if you’re not a groupie already. Shorter episodes that fit nicely in most commutes @jbjs@OrthoEvidence#ortho#orthomatch
@abrees18@drgsreddy@Champalooza@Davembmd Ohh got it thx. You might find ‘master tagging’ helpful (https://t.co/YAn2tsEvuM). Basically a substitute for multi select but you can link across databases (ie case logs and procedure notes in your model)
@abrees18@drgsreddy@Champalooza@Davembmd Using notion as well- it’s pretty sweet if you take advantage of it. @abrees18 how did you get tags in the title space there? I can see some added functionality for sure
@IsabellaWuMD @lashouldersurg Just a vortex of knowledge entering these brains. Veteran PGY4 move by Mike to remove all barriers between knowledge and brain. 5 year program, I’ll get there
Phenomenal debates and hands-on learning at the SoCal Residents & Fellows Course: Fundamentals in Shoulder Arthroplasty. Got to attend with several coresidents (@GKBerger), #UCSDOrtho's Dr. Leek as faculty, and much thanks to @lashouldersurg as PD
Amazing opportunity to present at the WOA annual meeting this week. Great people, great location, great time all around! #UCSDOrtho@GKBerger#WOA2022Maui

@EricSecrist@jbcarmody Yeah I think the analysis has to be pre vs post step 1 p/f. Along with med schools making most classes p/f, hard to differentiate one’s self academically. Next few cycles will be very difficult for both applicants and application reviewers imo
@EricSecrist@jbcarmody Agree. A lot of variables here. I know you all are published in the area - maybe a study opportunity here! Lmk if you want to talk it out sometime. One thing’s for sure: stats aside, ortho is the best specialty. More and more excellent med studs are seeing that 🔨 🦴
@EricSecrist@jbcarmody And the other takeaway being matched USMD senior to total matched ratio is relatively consistent, arguing against DO or IMG. Notably, many who don’t match and subsequently take a RY “delay graduation” on paper and are counted as a USMD senior in NRMP
@EricSecrist@jbcarmody I just queried the past 4 years. Looks like a steady drop, but definitely more-so this year. The obvious stat to me is the ratio of increase in MS4 apps to residency positions. Could it be 2/2 to the sudden increase in elective RY between ms3 and ms4? Still USMD on paper for them
@EricSecrist@jbcarmody Hey Eric- Mine is that there are an increased number of reapplicants. It’s become the norm to not match, do a RY, and be more competitive next year. This dilutes US seniors, more of them don’t match, rinse repeat. +feedback cycle. Thoughts?
