‘Tactics’ is 25% what you’re doing and 75% how it’s executed on the training ground. Which is why backroom staff (esp. 1st team coaches) are so important. A well coached 442 mid block is going to have more success than a badly coached 325 positional system.

[RP⚽ @RPftbl]

@TacticalFouling Tactical knowledge becoming widespread has made it seems like football systems can be understood & accounted for (which isn't exactly true), whereas "charm" can seem like hand waving.

But Ferguson, Klopp, Pep & early Mourinho/Wenger cannot be understood with tactics alone

Switched to Codex from Claude code, GPT5.6 is incredible for its price when compared to competing models. Their flagship Sol continues to blow me away.

[GK @GKchain]

England's use of Kane as a F9 to threaten space in behind from low build / goal kicks:

- Kane drops to create midfield 4
- Rice's lateral movements open up direct passing lanes into Kane from GK
- As soon as Kane receives to feet, wingers run in behind

[GK @GKchain]

@joshemden At best, you are an idiot. At worst, you are antisemitic for conflating Zionism, Judaism, and the genocide in Gaza.

If you believe protesting the genocide is antisemitism, you believe Jews across the world are responsible.

You are antisemitic for suggesting such.

[GK @GKchain]

I was somehow wrong about this but was very right about the quality of Martin as a coach!

[GK @GKchain]

Russel Martin will be sacked by Southampton within a year.

@1905Linus @MargzOnBreak @KierDoyle Calling someone plastic while you support 2 clubs from the same country is ironic, how about you fuck off?

[GK @GKchain]

@AshwinRaman_ Cat!

[GK @GKchain]

I wouldn’t be surprised if Emery takes Villa to the CL QF or beyond, they are incredibly tough to beat and his knockout coaching in world class.

[Aston Villa @AstonVilla]

Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Amadou Onana from Everton. ✍️

[GK @GKchain]

Absolutely disgusting treatment of a great servant to the club. Chalobah is a UCL level backup CB/RB.

[Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano]

🚨🔵 Trevoh Chalobah, not on USA pre season tour with Chelsea and expected to leave the club this summer.

[GK @GKchain]

People are surprised someone who’s coached Premier League players has a good opinion 🤣

[GK @GKchain]

@half_turn Come back to this in 3 years and see how silly Palmer/CHO comparisons look.

If Rangnick becomes Bayern head coach next season, I will be fully expecting Leverkusen to retain the title as long as they don’t get raided in the summer.

How can you expect him to outcoach Xabi Alonso when Thomas Tuchel couldn’t?

[GK @GKchain]

@tacticalfouling It’s ridiculous. If they hire him I think Leverkusen will retain the league. They should’ve never sacked Nagelsmann.

[GK @GKchain]

@nueverole Exactly. It’s almost like to win 4 UCLs and all the best leagues as a coach you have to be well-rounded. Carlo is so disrespected on this app.

[GK @GKchain]

@thewittyjack I disagree. While players at this level will not want to be reactive over a 38 game league season, they will play anyhow in order to give themselves the best chance of winning the UCL.

[GK @GKchain]

@tacticalfouling Big missed opportunity for Bayern to take a lead to Madrid. I’m worried that Tuchel’s knockout coaching will not be enough to overcome the home advantage. If they went to Madrid losing they would be in an awful position, can you imagine having to chase the game at the Bernabeu??

[GK @GKchain]

You don’t need to replace Salah with another like-for-like RW. You can sign someone like Leao or Kvaratshkelia and a good coach will come up with a system to make the most out of them.

[GK @GKchain]

@InvertTheWing Thoughts on Haaland having more BCM than Darwin?
