Our paper "Current Guidelines for the Implementation of #Flywheel#Resistance#Training#Technology in Sports: A Consensus Statement" is available online - @SportsMedicineJ

Congrats to the colleagues involved in this paper!
The last comp of 2023 was a blast as it always is with some epic duals! Jakara Anthony and Mikael Kingsbury totally crushed it, ending the December run on a super high note! 🎉

Jump FV-profiling thoughts:
two-point method for CMJ and SJ have both been shown to be reliable and valid (assuming correct methods are used), making the FV-imbalance quick to test:
https://t.co/o6yhjrMhKG
Also, the FV-profile imbalance may be quite different when assessed with SJ and CMJ, varying with movement velocity, sport and athlete level. @MattCrossNZ

Typically it seems, that there is a slightly higher force dominance when assessing with CMJ, but again, can vary.
I am curious whether testing both CMJ and SJ would be interesting irrespective of the cohort. This would replace just doing a common EUR test (eccentric utilisation ratio) with getting also data on what should I focus on. For example of force deficit profiles:
Athlete A: CMJ FV-profile shows a 75% imbalance, while my SJ shows a 60% imbalance
Athlete B: CMJ FV-profile shows a 75% imbalance, while my SJ shows a 70% imbalance
IF there is the importance of increasing elasticity in the vertical direction, Athlete A could be told that they need to keep a balanced maximal strength ECC-CON and CON volume (eg., squats & deadlifts equally), vs Athlete B, who would prioritize ECC-CON over CON (e.g., squats and rdls).
An example of balanced/velocity deficit profiles:
Athlete A: CMJ FV-profile shows a 120% imbalance, while my SJ shows a 105% balance
Athlete B: CMJ FV-profile shows a 120% imbalance, while my SJ shows a 115% imbalance
Again, IF there is the importance of increasing elasticity in the vertical direction, Athlete A, who could use a balanaced approach of high velocity CON and ECC-CON (Jumps from box vs ecc-con plyos) vs Athlete B could prioritize volume via ECC-CON movement (e.g., squat and hip hinge pattern plyos).
Thoughts? I havent done this myself yet, just putting it out there for review before I start experimenting.

You might be surprised to see just how much beliefs can influence physiology & performance!
@AdamVirgile@francoimpell@Shaun_McLaren1@EatsleepfitJeff@Israel_Halperin Agree! Recently spoke about it in this video:

Check out all the colours, descriptors & emojis. Only 1 example is the validated scale!
We should only use the official Borg scales and insist to any system/AMS we're using that is how we want it displayed.
