@SalAlbaneseNYC You'd know better than me, but is it a litmus test, or kissing the right behinds at the right time? To my moderately uninformed eyes, it looks more like the latter than the former.
@SalAlbaneseNYC I learned that the hard way by trying to get #MedicalAidInDying passed. We do have quite a few decent folks in NY politics despite the incentives for cronyism + ring-kissing, though.
Most I've met are smart; they just don't always use those smarts for the sake of public service.
Yesterday, the Assembly passed the Medical Aid in Dying Act, which allows terminally ill patients to request medication to peacefully end their suffering (A.136). New Yorkers facing unbearable pain deserve compassion, care, and the right to choose a dignified death.
