The disgrace about trying to start any debate on the Falklands again is that it ignores what occurred in 1982. All debate ended there with the choice Argentina made. Took a gamble and lost. To try and crawl back to legitimate means is pathetic. Shameless and shameful.
Hear me out: FIFA should let every team on Earth into the World Cup
-Start with geographically based groups
-Spread the matches out over 2.5-3 years
-Have the top 32 or 48 teams from those groups meet in a single country for one last tournament to determine the winner
Thoughts?
@CdnElectWatch The PR China team is so bad that there’s legit no chance they’d get in without either it being hosted on the Mainland or if Japan and/or Korea host (which is exactly what happened in 2002; got knocked out in the group stage)
Just means we haven’t done enough.
And at least in my experience, a lot of it is wait times, esp in the suburbs. A 15min bus wait is *okay*, but 30min upwards is usually if not always absurd.
Transit takes about twice as long as driving in both Canada and the US
I’m actual a fan of public transportation but it’s cope to say having to drive to work is a tax on your time.
The people of the Falkland Islands are not an “artificially implanted” population. They are a permanent, democratic community with the internationally recognised right to determine their own future.
Repeated attempts to dismiss their identity or ignore their clearly expressed wishes do nothing to advance constructive dialogue. The Islanders have spoken unequivocally: they wish to remain a British Overseas Territory.
Their right to self-determination is not negotiable.
FACT: British Captain John Strong and his crew were the first to ever walk on the Falkland Islands in 1690.
Anyone else who has tried to claim the islands since then has been an invader.
Fun fact. The Falklands islands have never belonged to Argentina nor was ever settled by Argentina.
It’s been a British territory, named since 1765 when claimed by an expedition by Captain John Byron for George 3rd.
It has been British longer than America has existed.
