I led a Kenyan delegation alongside @KenyaRedCross Secretary General Ahmed Idris, for strategic engagements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with three key humanitarian institutions: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA), and World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY).
Our discussions focused on strengthening Kenya–Saudi cooperation in disaster preparedness and response, relief coordination, youth capacity building, education, and community resilience programming.
These areas align directly with our mandate at the State Department of Special Programmes in coordinating national drought and disaster response frameworks, as well as the critical humanitarian role played by the Kenya Red Cross Society.
The engagements provided a platform to explore practical partnerships that will enhance early warning systems, improve response mechanisms, and expand opportunities for youth empowerment through skills development and structured programmes.
We are particularly keen on translating these engagements into tangible outcomes that strengthen institutional capacity and deliver impact to vulnerable communities across the country.
This cooperation directly supports the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda by prioritizing inclusive growth, social protection, and sustainable livelihoods.
Earlier, we paid a courtesy call on H.E. Joseph Masila, who briefed us on the Mission’s work and ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral relations and support Kenyans in the Kingdom.
