The problem with the super bins was that they were used as an excuse to reduce servicing, which just led to bigger messes ultimately.

Apparently the council parking attendants can now issue instant PCNs to cars parked on Westbank Quadrant & Otago Street, yet they never, ever patrol at pickup time. Edinburgh Council told us "..pollutants, including nitrogen dioxide are higher than the legal standard" (Screen shot August 2023) and this justified a diesel surcharge for residential parking permits.

But council monitoring showed pollution was below all legal standards in 2022.

@kfullermusic The council seems to run the bin collections with no slack at all, so this probably explains why they haven’t collected our blue bins in months due to “lack of staff”. Lose one driver and the whole thing falls apart.
