@Winnie_Byanyima@KagutaMuseveni UN officials are expected to act with diplomacy and political neutrality, not engage in personal or inflammatory public commentary on domestic issues. This kind of rhetoric diminishes the credibility of the office you @Winnie_Byanyima represents.
A new report on Darfur: “Rivers of Blood – Escaping Darfur” was presented today to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Sudan. I pay tribute to Marcus and Tomas Ray, for producing an important investigative report based on first hand testimonies and stories which they took during their visit to the Darfurian refugee camps in Chad. They have uncovered further evidence of terrible atrocities and of the dire humanitarian situation already faced by millions of people in Sudan. A failed international response to the endless crimes against humanity and genocide in Darfur has simply emboldened the perpetrators and given them licence to commit the same crimes all over again.
