Recently, PI Dr. Sabrina Karim (@sabrinamkarim) participated in a @DCAF_Geneva Experts Panel on how #AI can make security institutions more gender equitable places.
Here's what they found:
🧵 1/3
🔵 AI can reinforce biases, or it can mitigate them. It's important that security institutions choose the latter.
🔵 Informed oversight is crucial for strengthened, sustainable AI use.
🔵 Bottom-up approaches guided by civil society must be in focus.
🧵 2/3
What does peace actually look like?
🔵 Women at the table.
🔵 Women taking up roles in leadership.
🔵 Women whose safety is non-negotiable.
This #LivingTogetherInPeace day, we’re reminded that peace is only as strong as the women who shape it. 🕊️
#ForAllWomenAndGirls
Why do women make up just 10% of @UNPeacekeeping uniformed personnel?
