This is Emily Damari, a British hostage held by Hamas in Gaza. There's not one mention of her on either the @10DowningStreet or @Keir_Starmer timelines.

No one can take Labour seriously on the economy when it is offering billions of pounds to Mauritius to take a territory that Mauritius was already handsomely paid for NOT claiming in 1965.
–– Payton: What do you think is the most important thing to do for statisticians or statistics researchers to help in the process of scientific discovery? And this kind of, what do you think will be the most important thing for a statistician in the next 50 years or 30 to 50?
@DavidDeutschOxf: Well, one can't prophesy, of course. Well, to answer the last question first, because I think that's the easiest, statistics is an interesting and useful branch of mathematics. And the way it enters into science is that it enters only in what I call in my book the perspiration phase, that is, it is the last step in discovery.
It is the part that is not creative but mechanical. So if we have a mass of statistics and use statistical theory to get an answer out of that, the answer was really created before the data were even collected. And that part doesn't involve statistics.
So doing statistics, one has to understand that this is a branch of mathematics and that it has nothing to do with creativity. Some people think that creativity is just extracting knowledge out of data, but that is the opposite of what the truth is and as Popper has taught us.
–– Payton: Right. So, yeah, I can see from your book that it can be kind of used as a tool to reject hypothesis, but it seems that it is, do you think it's likely that it can be used to discover hypothesis as well, or maybe like not so much?
@DavidDeutschOxf: I think that's fundamentally impossible for the same reason that any piece of mathematics can't lead to discovery. The piece of mathematics isn't about the world unless you have a theory that first, have a theory that connects it to the world.
🇨🇦🇺🇸🇬🇧🇦🇺| No matter how you look at it, the attack in #Magdeburg is an act of anti-German terrorism. The Saudi Arabian perpetrator - #Taleb_Al_Abdulmohsen - reveals a highly toxic cocktail of identity conflicts, mistrust and ideological fractures.
Nothing about the murderer, who most recently worked as an alleged psychiatric specialist, is credible. His colleagues called him “Dr. Google” due to his supposed incompetence. The self-proclaimed anti-Islamist described himself as a political leftist in an interview with the US platform “RAIR” just two weeks ago. According to media reports, those who have had longer dealings with #TalebA describe him as a man with “two lives” who quickly becomes aggressive. It is therefore not surprising that the death driver is already on record with the German authorities. Back in 2013, he was convicted of threatening to commit criminal offenses.
But how can it be that Taleb A. was nevertheless granted asylum in 2016? Saudi Arabia had apparently already warned Germany about the man and requested his extradition. Did the perpetrator perhaps deliberately build up his massive anti-Muslim activism in order to avoid extradition and present himself as a political fugitive? Or is he in fact a hard-line Islamist who used the principle of “taqiyya” (deception) to pursue his plans in silence?
Were Germany's tolerance-drunk rainbow elites all too eager to believe this story? Did they want to have at least one of the rare exemplary proofs of supposedly successful integration to counter their multi-cultural chaos, which has long since failed across the board? Were they blind? Or stupid? Or both?
But the Magdeburg death ride certainly shows one thing: this is no longer just about religion. It is not about Islam, Christianity or any other faith. It is about the consequences of mass immigration of people who have no common cultural and historical roots with Europe and are importing their conflicts to us.
The insane violence, hatred, death and destruction that the alleged atheist and ex-Muslim Taleb A. brought upon the peaceful visitors to the Magdeburg Christmas market is absolutely no different from the barbaric brutality of Islamist murderers. Taleb A. is an anti-German terrorist. Which ideological uniform he wears is irrelevant. In both cases, the victims are German children, women and men. Dead, smashed or marked for life.
Nor is it a question of education or prosperity as an assessment criterion for migration. If supposedly well-integrated, educated, atheist doctors are now committing the same devastating acts of terrorism against innocent German citizens as sandal-wearing, religiously fanatical and uneducated Islamist zealots, we urgently need other, better criteria.
The new criterion can therefore only be identification. Anyone who does not identify 100% with Germany, the Christian-European culture and Western values of freedom will not come to us. Those who, like Taleb A., only pretend and still want to live out their domestic conflicts with us, will leave again. Anyone who commits a crime will lose his residence permit immediately. Even if he is allegedly being persecuted at home. We will stop importing the psychopaths of this world.
German #Leitkultur (leading culture) and identification are the new criteria, because Magdeburg proves that everything else does not work. At the same time, we need effective controls at the German borders and the construction of a consistent Fortress of Europe. Only if we finally regain our self-confidence and strength and resolutely enforce our positions will we have a chance.
Otherwise, Magdeburg will quickly repeat itself and Germany will soon sink completely into chaos.
450 days in captivity 💔🎗️
Jerusalem’s Chords Bridge was lit tonight, marking 450 days of longing for the 100 hostages still held in Gaza.
Let them go now.

A Chanukiah in a town just north of London has been violently destroyed. Broken. Paint has been sprayed all over it. This was planned. Jews can’t even celebrate holidays without being attacked. I am ashamed of my country.

It's an insane regulation.
Not only are you mandating (expensive) vendor identification for the USB-C, but it is also presuming there will *NOT BE ANY INNOVATION IN CONSUMER CABLE AND PORT USAGE EVER*.
Pure madness.
Sparta has no philosophers. That’s because the job of a philosopher is to understand things better, which is a form of change, so they don’t want it.

Israel's financial daily @globesnews interviews Hillel Neuer: “The UN has become absurd. At the Human Rights Council, 60% are dictatorships—like China, Cuba, Eritrea and Qatar. The UN put Iran on its Women's Rights Commission, and North Korea on the board of the WHO. It's sick.”
I am very saddened to learn of the passing of India’s former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh – a great man and a great leader who helped to put US-Indian relations on a fundamentally new footing with the landmark US-India Civilian Nuclear Agreement of 2008. Prime Minister Singh risked his political future and then remade his government to gain the support needed to secure a deal that would ultimately change the geopolitical trajectory of the region and have far reaching implications for decades to come. I extend my deepest condolences to the people of India for this great loss – may he rest in eternal peace.
