@DavidCoston725 I agree, forcing someone to receive care that they are not willing to participate in, takes away their right to choose. I think that forcing people into treatment can raise many ethical concerns. #CrimEdCU
This story is a perfect example of misinformation. As we know, misinformation is a widespread problem and can have a big impact on society. How can we help combat the impact of misinformation? #CrimEdCU
@AngelineMM It is hard to prosecute children this young
because of their incapabilities of forming criminal intent. However, I agree, I think that there should be some form of treatment program for children that commit these types of crimes. #CrimEdCU
There has been speculation from school officials that this little boy had a gun on him, however, no serious action was taken. Also, no one, including the boy, has been charged in the shooting. Who do you think should be held responsible for this tragedy?#CrimEdCU

@ea10233 As we mentioned in class, actors and actresses appearances should not be romanticized to undermine the horrifying violent acts they committed. Glorifying these serial murderers in the media and films is disrespectful to victims and their families and retraumatizes them. #CrimEdCU
This is one story of many. The CJS failed to deliver justice by wrongfully convicting this woman. She spent the last 42 years of her life incarcerated for a crime she didn’t commit. To move forward we need do better investigations to ensure that justice is being served. #CrimEdCU
Sandra Hemme has spent the last 42 years in prison for a crime she didn't commit, making her the longest-known wrongly convicted woman. https://t.co/xzQHqlimX8
@DavidCoston725 It is sad to hear about cases like this one. Authority figures think that they can get away with committing these types of crimes because of their power. I think that they definitely need to be held more accountable. #CrimEdCU
We commonly see grooming in children who are victims of sexual assault. The purpose of grooming is to find victims, reduce the probability of being reported, and if reported, reduce the probability of the victim being believed. #CrimEdCU
Gamer allegedly drove to #Texas to kidnap 13-year-old girl, locked her up in a #NorthCarolina shed, and raped her after months of grooming

@BerkheimerAmber I think that Tiktok “detectives” can definitely help further a case and have done so to help solve crimes. However, due to the high publicity of this platform, I think a lot of misinformation can be spread causing harm to cases. #CrimEdCU
Here is an example of how mental health can be used in the wrong way. In this case mental health is used as an excuse for a murder to miss court. Like mentioned in class, this could help feed stereotypes regarding the mentally ill being dangerous #CrimEdCU
@ea10233@NFL_DovKleiman I agree, we need to stop allowing pro-athletes get away with crimes they are committing just because of their status. It’s sad to see how many athletes are able to make millions of dollars but ruin their careers by engaging in domestic violence. #CrimEdCU
@DavidCoston725 Typically we only hear of rape victims being females, so I think that this story definitely dispels what the “ideal victim” looks like and depicts that males are victims of rape as well. #CrimeEdCU
This story relates to our conversation in class regarding female offenders and how it’s often a societal shock to see motherly figures commit violent acts such as murder, especially a babysitter who is supposed to be trustworthy and nurturing. #CrimEdCU https://t.co/56QopSxkIH
Could the way this story focuses on the choices of the victim be an example of victim blaming? It seems that some people are putting the blame on the victim for letting him in when the focus should be on him being a predator. #CrimEdCU https://t.co/cJ56dwHveT
