For a variety of reasons, we’ve been quantitating many western blots & radioactive protein gels so made this app for doing so as unhappy with what is available. Can quickly quantitate gels/blots & make simple graphs from the data. Instruction tab in app.

Since the discovery of CRISPR-Cas systems, people have wondered if a similar type of system exists in eukaryotes. Today, we report in @Nature the characterization of Fanzor, a eukaryotic RNA-guided system that can be reprogrammed for human genome editing. https://t.co/aKLMMEBRkk

I’m really happy to announce you that our collaboration with CNR of Catania has led to beautiful results published in the prestigious Nature sustainability. Look at our approach to reduce #PbLeakeage from #PerovskiteSolarCells.
George Coukos and colleagues show that orthogonal cytokine engineering can reprogram CD8 T cells to escape exhaustion leading to tumor regression. Read it here: https://t.co/ToyXbu672u @CorriaJesus@CoukosGeorge

A pioneering 1-to-N study that began last November based on results from a fly drug multipurposing screen is expanding to two additional patients who just started treatment, and the first patient is now in a drug washout.
Welcome to the frontier of precision medicine.
Interested in DNA/RNA modification? Glad to share our paper @NatureRevGenet “Navigating pitfalls of mapping DNA & RNA modification”. VERY promising field, BUT we highlight *common yet not widely recognized pitfalls*. Congrats @kong_yimeng! High-level🧵1/11 https://t.co/6f2ddrDLz9

As @mattmight says, "science is medicine" for rare disease. It's pretty amazing that we can use fairly simple approaches (repurposing drug screens) in flies to bring potential life changing therapies to people living with rare disease. In this case, the experiment is the therapy.
2 special milestones this week...Grace got to celebrate First Holy Communion & turned 13. Hard to believe she is a teenager. Doctors told us she wouldn't live past 5 when she was born. Thankful for these 2 incredible milestones. #NGLY1#RareDisease#firstcommunion#Birthdaygirl
Today, we’re introducing a new model that eliminates accept/reject decisions.
By publishing every paper with eLife reviews as a Reviewed Preprint, we plan to restore autonomy to authors, ensuring that they will be judged by what, not where, they publish. https://t.co/OAsiOVFStI
Excited @NobelPrize goes to friend, colleague, & grantee @CarolynBertozzi. She changed the #NGLY1 field that is poised to impact several diseases that touch millions of ppl (not just the #RareDisease we started w/). Love her rocking Grace Science "Cure All" shirt in @nytimes pic.
