Husband, father of 4 humans, 2 cats, two dogs. Community Security Director, Secure Community Network, Jewish Federation of San Diego, retweets not endorsements
SCN’s @MichaelGMasters joined @CNN to discuss the alarming surge in violent threats directed at the Jewish community.
“We have seen an over 130% increase in violent posts directed against the Jewish community in the last week. I want to be very clear that this is not someone who is drawing a swastika or saying they don't like Jews or disagree with Israeli policy. That is someone who is threatening to maim or kill a member of the Jewish community.
That is the highest number that we have tallied, 8,000 violent posts in under five days in the history of our record keeping. That's the nature of the environment.”
Official SCN Guidance:
Following U.S. and Israeli airstrikes targeting Iran, SCN urges continued vigilance across Jewish communities.
Relevant national organizations and Jewish security professionals remain in close coordination, including with institutions, to monitor developments, share timely information, and strengthen protective measures, particularly in light of Shabbat services and upcoming Purim gatherings.
We encourage institutions and community members to review our Community Guide for Event Security and consult with their local security professionals.
Any suspicious activity should be reported immediately to your local security professionals and law enforcement.

@DonOrsillo@Padres@RedSox Fans of the game appreciate both organizations. @RedSox are my team for life as a fan, it’s where I’m from! I love the @Padres too, and I root for them against every other team!
@SDSheriff@SanDiegoPD Thank you for the update. I’m sorry the deputies had to utilize deadly force and while I’m confident there will be a thorough review, it seems apparent the person left them no other choice. I’m thankful no one else was harmed.
