@DavidDarling Yes, that's right. I had the Mastertronic release. From this humble beginning to ending up as one of the world's biggest games companies. Not bad going!
@DavideBottino@Indie_RetroNEWS@RetroGamingRVG@TheRetroAsylum@ClassicReplay @hayesmakergames @pixeladdict_mag The C64 version started life as a straight port, but because the C64 display is almost twice as wide as the VIC 20 then it made sense to simply change the viewpoint and keep a lot of the original code. All the presentation screens had to be redone completely.
After a few months of toil, the sequel to my VIC 20 racer is finished. Super Monza GP 2 needs a 32K expansion and can be found at: https://t.co/tUnCGHlVj5 #vic20
@SarahJaneAvory Some people will have different opinions. Or sometimes they will just miss the point of a particular design choice. That's OK. It's normal and all part of any creative process. The important thing is to just keep doing what you enjoy.
Huge thanks go to @futurewas8bit for turning my little VIC 20 games into physical products that you can load in to your 40 year old hardware. These look awesome! We're lucky to have people like Rod at the heart of the retro community. π
@oldyzach I know exactly what you mean. I think it was as decent as you could hope for using a single fire button joystick system. Consoles were just more suited to the genre because of the controllers.
@FREEZE64UK I had one of the C64 models that the serial port reset didn't work on so I used a paperclip on the user port before I finally bought an AR cart. π
