@JohnRuml Why is it a trending topic that the Phyrexian invasion had no casualties or consequences? The problem wasn't a lack of either. It was the inability to tell a story with limited space.
@asilvermyr "The invasion had no impact anywhere, Jace didn't lose anyone or even his spark, so what is he so desperate to change?"
Somebody hasn't been paying any attention to the story whatsoever but still wants to complain about the story anyway.
@AtriumXP@MTGSecretLair I mean it's a facade. It's a performance they put on to look like they care or are paying attention. Best evidence says the error message is scripted to go up every time regardless of what's happening, because it always shows up at the same time consistently.
@Noizemancer Props to Gaboleps. They've done some amazing art for the game.
But this ain't it. It's not even that it's slices of pizza - the pizza's fine, in concept. The texture of the cheese looks like ooze or sludge. It might be the exaggerated yellow, or the reflectiveness.
@tenroseUK@Noizemancer The pizza slices are all dripping onto flat surfaces. The flat surfaces are all either on the ground or touching the ground.
It's land art.
@HRpufnsting@BDEgameowners In some ways, it was a good set that had a great trailer. WAR had some great cards, but the lmtd environment was terrible beyond the gimmick, unlike say Alara Reborn.
And the story after that trailer was a fucking travesty. Like March it had great buildup, but ended on a wet fart
@foundry_13@coL_Amazonian Odd that you say sales were down in your area until FF though, since FF is a freakish anomaly and we can't compare anything in the history of this game to it. Here, FF is basically modern Pokemon. Nowhere can keep it in stock, ever.
@foundry_13@coL_Amazonian Ah, gotcha. I just figured "hat sets" referred to those 2 plus maybe EoE and DM - sets where flavor didn't quite fit the game's worldbuilding.
OoTJ and MoKM have similar flavor problems. But Murders wasn't hated for its flavor. It was a bad limited set.
@foundry_13@coL_Amazonian That said though, I'm not going to gaslight you. Spider-man is disappointing in sales, probably only doing better than Aetherdrift. He might have been meaning that relative to his own expectations, it's not doing terribly.
@foundry_13@coL_Amazonian Consider the context of "usually". The last three sets were anomalies. Tarkir: Dragonstorm, Edge of Eternities and Final Fantasy all sold absurdly well. Aetherdrift was a flop. The last "normal" set Magic released, in terms of sales, was probably Duskmourn, and that was 1y ago.
@wildstwawberry Very, very wary about this, given how Jumpstart boosters were treated in the past with ToME, Dominaria United, March of the Machine, All Will Be One, and the Brothers' War.
If it's akin to Jumpstart and Foundations, where there was a separate card list, great.
Otherwise, bad.
@GLegit99@Kydwykkyd101@N120XenoTrue @thisisgreyyy @DiscussingFilm You haven't researched this. And when anybody enlightens you, you double down. If you want to ask your buddy Gork why we film in other countries, be my guest. But you're trusting in an administration that takes a sledge hammer to everything first, then asks questions later.
@HasztagBang@arcsincall@tubtub2000@JG_Nuke 5. Please understand. If you push for unchecked AI development, and celebrate the questionable means we had to take to get here, you are advocating for a wasteland, where you and yours will die off. All AI is doing is furthering the class divide and destroying the middle class.
@HasztagBang@arcsincall@tubtub2000@JG_Nuke Yeah. You're being duped.
Technological progression doesn't work in such a way that, when I'm developing something, I know definitively what I'm going to have in months' or years' time. There are goals and benchmarks, yes.
@HasztagBang@arcsincall@tubtub2000@JG_Nuke 4. In that world, WE become the machines. WE become automatons for CEOs and the uber-wealthy, who have already made their money and manipulated the AI market, and AI itself. If you don't fit neatly into that box, then you starve.
@HasztagBang@arcsincall@tubtub2000@JG_Nuke 3. I understand the fantasy of a world where humans no longer need to work, but there is no means for living supplied for a world where human jobs barely exist. There are no CEOs pushing for UBI. If anything, this tech is driving us to a world where the only job is manual labor.
