Last Thing I’ll say about the Brendan Sorsby Situation until we get concrete updates:
Cincinnati also plays a significant role in this entire situation as well… it’s not just Texas Tech
They knew about the Gambling Problem that Sorsby and instead of doing what’s best for him and the game? They kept it under wraps.
Scott Satterfield chose his own job security over what’s best for Brandon Sorsby/what’s best for the integrity of the sport.
Congratulations to @TexasTech on being recognized among the top 2.4% of higher education institutions worldwide, earning a place on The Center for World University Rankings' 2026 Global 2,000 List.
This distinction reflects the dedication of Texas Tech’s students, faculty, staff and alumni who continue to elevate the university’s impact.
“As Texas Tech continues its trajectory as a leading public research university, we remain focused on creating opportunities, advancing knowledge and delivering value for the state of Texas and beyond.”
– Dr. Lawrence Schovanec, Texas Tech University president
Congratulations to the entire Red Raider community on this outstanding achievement.

What wild 24 hours. Here are 3⃣ misconceptions/misinformation I'm seeing regarding the Brendan Sorsby case:
1. He bet on games he played in.
He did NOT bet on any games he suited up for.
While not great he bet on games while redshirting, he never bet on a game he suit up in.
2. The Judge in this case is from Lubbock.
Ken Curry is a retired Tarrant County (Fort Worth) judge that graduated from Houston and UT-Arlington. He is currently eligible to practice law and his practice is listed in Colleyville, TX (over 300 miles from Lubbock).
3. Texas Tech did something wrong.
He made all of his bets before taking a snap at Texas Tech. Cincinnati was alerted to his potential gambling activity (per ESPN).
Texas Tech declared him ineligible and will now follow the temporary injunction (like the rest of the NCAA).
I'm such a @sportsiren Holly Rowe fan but I agree with Chris on this.
In football Texas Tech spends less on their roster than Texas and several SEC teams yet all anyone talks about is TT "buying players". Now I'm seeing the same double-standard in softball when anyone affiliated with the sport should be thrilled that a major university is investing so heavily in their program -- especially in today's 'football-only' culture.
Texas Tech should be applauded instead of having people throwing shade their way simply because they are going all in and winning.
For years in football the bluebloods of the sport used bagmen to help build their rosters under the table. Now that comping players and NIL are legal the bluebloods of the sport can't stand having to play by the same rules as everyone else.
Softball clearly has a little bit of that same blueblood arrogance, and the @GatorsSB softball team should be embarrassed for the "sore loser" mentality they displayed after the game today. No one faults these young ladies for being disappointed, but refusing to shake hands only reflects poorly on the University of Florida.
Furthermore, @bethmowins ought to be relegated to high school sports for sharing in this arrogance during the broadcast.
I'm a Michigan State alum, and like Texas Tech we've historically been chasing the bluebloods in our conference and nationally. The more success I see from Texas Tech the more I hope MSU's distinguished alumni are watching and learning from them so maybe we can join them as one of the "new bloods".
In the meantime, here's a message for Beth Mowins and/or anyone else covering Tx Tech's games going forward: if you're not going to discuss how much Texas, Florida, or Ohio State are paying for their rosters then kindly STFU about how much Texas Tech is spending.
Congrats to @TexasTechSB and good luck in the @WCWSsoftball !

Cole Wisniewski with a shoutout to Red Raiders Nation after his last game ever in a Texas Tech helmet.
Calls his season in Lubbock one of the most fun years of his life.
I spent 48 hours in Lubbock (never a bad thing) and I watched two @TexasTechMBB practices and a @BYUMBB practice. There were great players (possibly 5 NBA players) on the court tonight but kudos to both coaching staffs who put an incredible amount into their game plans. Extremely impressive to me.
@Big12Conference
@grok No, consider all four stats from this game as well as the fact that the QB promoted John 3:16
• Tebow’s passing yards = 316
• Yards per completion = 31.6
• Steelers’ time of possession = 31:06
• CBS rating peaked at 31.6
I'll never forget watching this live. The @NFL denied @TimTebow from putting 3:16 on his face, then he throws for 316 yards with 31.6 yards per completion in a prime time playoff game.
God works in mysterious (and obvious) ways.
