Finally wrote a paper on my favorite topic 😊! Fun story : I had this idea two years ago. After a thorough literature search, I found only 1 cool paper from 41 years ago had a similar idea but 0 citations (do check https://t.co/tV1ruDI34z)!

Three years of resistance. Three years of gratitude. Three years of absolute heroism of Ukrainians. I am proud of Ukraine! I thank everyone who defends and supports it. Everyone who works for Ukraine. And may the memory of all those who gave their lives for our state and people be eternal. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Very interesting new H0 result by Vogl et al. - this uses the Expanding Photosphere Method with Type II supernovae (spoiler alert H0=74.9 +/- 1.9). This is an old approach to measuring distances but here with an impressively rigorous refresh and a distance ladder-free measurement [https://t.co/jFuRO06ifG]. 🧵
“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

Who decided to choose Halloween for Dark Matter day? Cause it would be a real cosmic Halloween if DM turns out to be only gravitationally interacting 👻 (and Nature does have a weird sense of humor) 👀
Happy Birthday to Niels Bohr, born 7 October 1885! We rightly celebrate his 1913 model of the atom which was central to the development of quantum mechanics, but did you know that what we teach today as the "Bohr model" is not actually what Bohr proposed! A short thread.
I’m happy to share that I’ll be starting a new postdoc at Arizona State University later this month. I’ll miss Blacksburg a lot, especially my friends and colleagues at @Center4NuPhys. Also here is today’s beautiful double rainbow all the way across the sky.
