Big day for the #4DayWeek as we reveal that almost almost every company that took part in the UK four-day week pilot has decided to continue with it at the end of the trial.
Surely the time has now come to begin rolling it out across the country.

Who knew? Our @Cranfielduni research https://t.co/TdypkdojpG shows that line managers who trial part-time working find that it works in more circumstances than they had imagined. #parttimework#flexiblework
The research from @GascoigneC and Prof. Clare Kelliher identified two work practices that constrain the negotiating power of part-time i-dealers; and how, post-negotiation, professionals use job crafting, both individual and collaborative, to try to overcome these constraints.
@MFenderesky@RoshanaMN Yes, consultant jobs can be more flexible - https://t.co/AnOFBFW9Fz . But ‘extreme’ refers to not just long hours but also other factors such as work intensity, span of responsibility, and (sometimes) heroic expectations of workload
@tomallenhistory Great pic Tom. The CIPD needs participants for next stage of WFH research. It would be great to include some teachers! https://t.co/C8efRMsQZp
Really useful report @GascoigneC MPs work & teams also had to change in this time. Good tips on the benefits, pitfalls and how to make WFH/flexi working better for employee & employer.
Now that we're officially invited to work from home again, what do you or your employer need to do to WFH effectively? Read the CIPD's review of the evidence and participate in the ongoing research: https://t.co/C8efRMsQZp
With requirements back to #WFH this may help. Focus on wellbeing even more important in the coming months but also setting the direction for positive longer term shifts in how we work for the future
Now - SHAMEFULLY - deleted from the BBC feed. RT far & wide, and while you’re at it, I defy you to point out ONE WORD of this which isn’t factually true and “impartial”.
@KeelaShackell Well my 70,000 word PhD thesis on this very topic is freely available, but the key is to collaborate with colleagues on redesigning your job and not try to do it all alone. And remember it may take 6-12 months - maybe a budget cycle - to get full workload reduction. Good luck!
Really important for managers to stop relying on the 'request-response' model of flexible working and start proactively exploring whether jobs could be redesigned to better suit both the individual and the employer
Do managers proactively offer #flexibleworking - or do they wait to be asked? The latter, according to NEW research we release today with @cmi_managers. We are calling for more managers to #AskAboutFlex https://t.co/893KiJi3sJ
BREAKING: our ‘Improving nurses’ work-life balance’ report is out. A 1yr team-based rostering trial, conducted with 240 nurses, in 7 wards, across 3 hospitals - @BWC_NHS@nottmhospitals & @UHSFT. Thanks to @BurdettTrust for its support
#TimewiseNursing https://t.co/fMzcokNGNA
@Timewise_UK Schedule stability matters as much as flexibility for nurse work-life balance. My new article: https://t.co/IJSkmxSIMe. Might be of interest to your members @ChrisCEOHopson?
