A safe food is where public health begins, not in hospitals.
Prevention at the kitchen door costs far less than treatment at the hospital bed.
The outcomes of enforcement go beyond public health. A society where food businesses meet a genuine food standard is a society with fewer preventable illnesses, more consumer trust, and a stronger food economy .overall Health and economic outcomes rise together when food safety is taken seriously.

Fair criticism. Mumbai is transforming- metros, coastal roads, airports, bridges- but our civic infrastructure has not kept pace. The next big Indian infrastructure mission should be cleanliness: sewage treatment, waste collection, clean beaches, drains and public spaces. And as suggested, a world-class waterfront.

Humble request to please regulate the traffic at Patni Road Airoli heading towards Diga station.
Autos & 2 wheelers ride in the wrong lane causing a serious risk accident.
quite prevalent during evening hours

Pune: Unfortunate development for the city as 20 companies choose to relocate their base due to bad infra and traffic.
Could this be the beginning of the end for the great city of Pune?
What happened to the Davos Tamasha? Aren’t global companies looking at roads in Maharashtra? Or can we fool them with an Atal Setu and coastal road? Even there, if you look closer you see patchwork that doesn’t exist in any country which are in the next 10 GDP ranks after India!!
As per BMC commissioner's recent directions under the 'Pedestrian First' campaign, all obstructions, including construction material and other objects, must be removed from footpaths to keep them safe and accessible for pedestrians.
The direction also states that paver blocks should not be used for new footpaths.
This is at Mahavir Nagar, near Kandivali West Metro Station, Kandivali West.

@CollectorRaigad@RaigadPolice

@Swiggy@zomato should add a tag to Restaurants in Maha state which have been raided by FDA. I believe they are going to serve cleaner & healthy food @Tukaram_IndIAS thanks for the clean-up!
We shouldnt have to do this. Maharashtra and India in general receives enough water for its population to thrive, not just survive.
Because we are infra starved, we have to just let this water flow into the Arabian sea for no reason and accept water scarcity and the economic stagnation that comes with it.
We must build more dams, canals, and all sorts of water infra so that not a drop flows into the Arabian sea and Bay of Bengal.
A colleague traveling Siddhivinayak to JVLR Aarey daily inform getting an auto @ JVLR stn to Powai is a task. Past few weeks share autos started which charge ₹70 per seat & carry 4 passengers, while an individual auto would cost₹85 but they hv no choice.

14 years. ₹16,000 crores. Yet, driving from #Mumbai to #Goa in 6 hours is still a fictional sci-fi script. 🎬
Kudos to @MorthIndia & @NHAI_Official for turning a highway project into a generational heritage site!
Why build a safe road when you can give commuters an annual monsoon water park & off-roading experience? 🚙🌧️

Mumbai may be seeing aggressive action against illegal encroachments under Devendra Fadnavis and his team, but the bigger question is: are we really solving the problem, or simply shifting it outside city limits?
Because while encroachments are being demolished in Mumbai, several leaders and local networks from his own party from corporators to MPs are allegedly enabling, expanding or benefiting from similar encroachments in the outer MMR.
Almost all the locations seen in these images fall under areas governed by double-engine or triple-engine governments. So the excuse of “lack of coordination” does not work here.
Outer MMR belts like Titwala, Malangad, Ambivli, Ambernath and several other areas are witnessing a shocking rise in illegal slums, illegal buildings and completely unplanned settlements.
Many of these places were vacant lands barely 5 to 8 years ago. Today, they are being swallowed by encroachments, land grabbing, illegal construction and open violations of town planning norms.
There are Atleast 300+ illegal shops just between Katai and Badlapur
This is not urban development. This is organized urban collapse.
Encroachments are not being eliminated they are being exported to the outer MMR.
The question is simple: are we removing illegal encroachments, or creating a new illegal city outside Mumbai?
Having covered Mumbai’s infrastructure for years, the recent Bandra East Garibnagar clearance feels less like a sudden victory and more like a stark reminder of a decades-old crisis.
The first serious attempt to clear slums on govt land was back in the late nineties, when the BJP-Sena govt removed encroachments along the Harbour line tracks. As a reporter for the Times group, I actually travelled inside the train cabin with the motorman, thanks to Mukul Marwah, the then CPRO, to witness firsthand the horrifying operational challenges Central Railway faced daily.
While the Garibnagar demolition is a welcome step, we cannot simply cheer the cleanup without exposing why it happened in the first place. For decades, a ruthless corporator-neta-babu nexus has made millions by exploiting these slumdwellers and weaponising public space. Even today, the Harbour Line remains a chaotic mess, airport lands are heavily choked, and prime government properties across the city stay aggressively encroached.
This structural rot is the direct product of institutional civic corruption. Mumbaikars have not voted for seasonal clearance drives; they voted for an iron hand to smash this systemic betrayal. It is time to look past the bulldozers, expose the entire administrative cartel, and send them to jail. Mumbai needs visible consequences.
