10 straight seasons bottom half. It’s almost unheard of in English football.
Only a handful of clubs have ever had runs this long and most were decades ago. We’re now in that bracket, and it’s still going. A decade of failure @JonWalters19#stokecity#scfc
@NeilJamesWriter Ordinarily I'd want both gone, but it's clear that we've tried that before and it hasn't worked. I'd be willing to keep Robins on for a bit longer and give him more control over the players he's bringing through the door.
@mrjavascript20@SpencerOwen@hashtagutd I'm not sure if it has changed, but the financial rules in League One would have allowed us to spend more freely than would have been the case in the Championship. Something that Ipswich and Birmingham have profited from. It'll be interesting to see how Cardiff do next year too.
@SpencerOwen@hashtagutd The rules are broken, too focussed on building revenues which means that the onus is on pricing fans out - something our owner, as a lifelong Stoke fan himself, does not want to do. He's just spent £12 million on a new training ground, but cannot spend that amount on a player.
@SpencerOwen@hashtagutd It has been tedious seeing us do nothing but tread water for a decade. Think we're the only club in the 92 not to have achieved a top half finish in that time. The annoying thing is we have money to spend but cannot do so, which in turn is making us less sustainable as a result!
@wbafelix@secondtierpod They're clueless, deliberately antagonising for views. Fair play they've found what works, but at the expense of any professional pride or even belief in what they're saying. As for West Brom, was very impressed with you at the weekend, you'll be right in the mix.
