Paul McGovern has joined Falkirk.
Really good move for him think he has a good opportunity to join a decent side at a decent level with a good chance of game time in his first season in GB.
One to watch over the next 12 months
✅ Paul McGovern has signed for Falkirk FC.
The Newry-born forward leaves Glenavon having racked up 13 goals and 5 assists.
Named Ulster Young Footballer of the Year and capped at international level for Northern Ireland, he heads to Scotland.
Falkirk finished 6th in the Scottish Premiership last season, their first campaign back in the top flight after 15 years away.
A great move for a young player ready to step up. Good luck Paul. 🔵⚪
Michael has announced his first squad post-contract extension.
Let’s have a look at how they’ve done for their clubs this season and any links to potential moves this summer.
Thread 🧵
Confirmed squad for June friendlies ✅
Exciting young squad, seems light in defence but good to see first call ups for Braiden and Ceadach. Also hoping for a Kieran Morrison debut.
Great chance for some to stake a place for the Nations League
Squad to be announced tomorrow alongside Michael’s new contract.
Will be an interesting squad will expect no Bradley or Ballard but will be interesting to see if there’s any changing of the guard
Don’t like to get political but Martin O’Neill has done more for our country than Jamie Bryson could ever do.
Regardless of what Martin O’Neill does managing a Scottish team he has captained our country at a World Cup which makes him a legend.
Congrats Martin on the double 💚🤍
It has actually just become apparent that this account in fact **seems** to be run by the @IrishFA
Absolutely shocking but unsurprising if so. There needs to be an absolute clear-out of that organisation, starting with the CEO who wanted a ROI top in his office.
It’s actually startling the kind of morons we have putting out tweets such as this.
If you like Celtic that much away and work for the FAI.
Trai Hume’s goal from yesterday 🤩
Sunderland’s win over Chelsea confirmed European football for Hume (if he’s not playing for Real Madrid) and Dan Ballard next season.
U21 Squad confirmed for a friendly v Portugal 🇵🇹
Big news is a first call up for George Feeney who is at Spurs.
No Tom Atcheson who I expect will be in the seniors. Makenzie Kirk and Devlan Moses remain with the U21s.
@TheGnomeofDoom_@Chiefmeister55 Not sure of any specific reasons don’t believe there are any U19 games.
Tommy has discussed that a players are unavailable as there aren’t typically youth games at this time of year.
Maybe a surprise call up to the seniors though, Marshall was treated that way.
🚨 Paul McGovern is attracting interest from both Scottish Premiership and Championship clubs this summer.
The Newry native, started his grassroots career with Windmill Stars but climbed through the ranks at Newry City before joining Glenavon in 2024.
Across both clubs he has racked up 81 games, 13 goals and 5 assists, including 9 goals and 4 assists this season.
Such were his performances he was recently named Ulster Young Footballer of the Year.
Football runs in the family too, with his brother John at Shamrock Rovers.
Versatile across the front line, he can operate as a right winger, left winger, centre forward or attacking midfielder.
At international level he has represented Northern Ireland at both U17 and U19 level, earning 8 caps and scoring 1 goal for the U19s.
With his contract expiring this summer and Glenavon relegated, Falkirk have been named as one of the clubs leading the chase per the Daily Record, with sides from England’s Championship and League One also tracking him closely.
His former manager Stephen McDonnell summed it up: “He’s in an unbelievable position. I know there’s a list of clubs all over it.”
He’s certainly a name to keep an eye out for in the coming months and years! 👀☘️
Trai Hume to… Real Madrid?! That’s according to Spanish outlet Defensa Central, who claim they’re looking at Sunderland’s Northern Irish right back!

🚨 Cameron Reid has signed as a first-year scholar with Charlton Athletic.
The Newtownards-born left-back is a Northern Ireland youth international who represented County Down at the Super Cup NI.
At club level, he came through at Glentoran before moving to Linfield, where he helped secure the Harry Cavan Youth Cup with the U21s last season.
Charlton describe him as a player who combines a strong physical presence with excellent athleticism, capable of influencing both ends of the pitch with a quality final ball.
Another interesting player to keep in the notepad ✍️ 👀
Unfortunately for Shea Charles his goal has been overruled following spygate.
If we’re to see Shea in the prem next season he’ll need a transfer but we’ll see.
Play off final this weekend we’ll be behind Paddy McNair and Hull as they seek promotion to the Premier League 💚🤍
An Independent Disciplinary Commission has today expelled Southampton from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs after the Club admitted to multiple breaches of EFL Regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other Clubs’ training.
In addition, the Club has received a four-point deduction that will be applied to the 2026/27 Championship table.
The effect of today’s order is that Middlesbrough are reinstated into the 2026 Play-Offs and will proceed to the Play-Off Final against Hull City. The final remains scheduled for Saturday 23 May, with the kick-off time to be confirmed.

U17 international Michael Mulholland definitely one watch in the future.
Congrats to Michael on the move and hopefully follows in the footsteps of Conor Bradley and Kieran Morrison to make his Liverpool debut 💚🤍
🚨 Michael Mulholland could be set to sign for Liverpool this summer.
The Belfast-born striker plays his club football for the Crusaders Academy product and away from that is also a member of the National JD Academy.
At international level, he has represented Northern Ireland across multiple underage sides:
U17 - 3 Caps
U16 - 2 Caps
U15 - 4 Caps 3 Goals
He reportedly trialled at Anfield earlier this year and per Liverpool Academy expert @LewisBower2021 a deal looks to be in place.
