D&C 36:4-7

The commandment for “all men” to serve a mission was issued by the Lord in 1830 (the year the church was organized). It has never been rescinded. It is so critical to an elders soul that it becomes almost impossible to repent of not going. It’s why if a young man does not serve they almost all go inactive and never return. There are exceptions that repent but they are the small minority. One reason it is so spiritually damaging is that thousands upon thousands pleaded with God to be sent in the last days to gather Israel. If a young man decides not to go - and therefore they block not only themselves but the other young man who pleaded to be sent.

Every young man should do EVERYTHING in their power to go. NOTHING is worth missing that once in a lifetime privilege to serve the Lord and their preordained mission.

Anyone who teaches otherwise does not understand what they are talking about.

Spend 1 hour a day in scripture / bible and Book of Mormon

Read and follow Isaiah 58 (whole chapter on fasting and donate the money you would have spent on food to the poor

6Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Vs 8 the Lord will be your rearward (he will protect you where you are weak)

Vs 9 he will answer your prayers

Take one day at a time but center yourself on Christ. He will help you. I promise. He loves you brother.

Part of their stumbling block false doctrine is that you don’t need to keep the commandments. So when they read a verse like the one above from Moroni they think “Satan will persuade to “do good” bcs it “denies grace”. This bcs they don’t understand the scriptures.

Satan truly knew what he was doing when he twisted and distorted part of the Bible.

Just like they deny priesthood because they don’t have it they deny and twist temple doctrine because they don’t have or know what to do with a temple.

They don’t understand the Bible or have authority so they create a theology that excludes Gods order.

They can do what they want but for me and my house we’ll serve the true and living God.
