Realizing that other nations have their own interests and accepting them for who they’re with all their systems (good or bad) is a good starting point. What is not acceptable is trying to force others to conform to US’s system and way of life. However, I think it is okay and possible to set a good practical example to win them over.
Lasting friendships are more important than short term goals and gains.
Ethiopia should be open to work with US with out letting down the guard. Because, US has multiple track records of ditching and turning around on a dime to stab in the back.
